Hands-down one of the absolute best fishing lures ever made. Will catch almost anything.
I've been using these Road Runner heads for what seems like decades, and it's time they get the recognition they deserve. I've caught so many fish on these, in both fresh and saltwater, it almost doesn't seem fair. Bass, crappie (incredible crappie lure), bream, catfish, trout, snook, seatrout, redfish, black drum, spanish mackerel, bluefish, pompano, you name it.I love to fish these with a 1.5 or 2" curly-tailed grub, usually just in white or white and chartreuse. Gulp makes a small curly-tail which works fantastic with the 1/16oz road runner head. I usually fish them in one of several ways, alternating retrieves until I find out what the fish want. I either cast them, close my bail and watch the floating line on the surface, letting the lure sink, and setting the hook if I see a "shock" vibrate the floating portion of the line when a fish strikes. Or, I cast, let sink as above and start a yo-yo retrieve with pauses, keeping in contact with the lure while it sinks between retrieves. Or at times you can just be mindless, cast them out, let them sink and start a steady retrieve, at times retrieving JUST BARELY fast enough to keep the blade spinning and the tail swimming.I really feel like this is one of the most underrated lures out there. There's not a lot of flash, no fancy colors, not a lot of marketing hype by the pro's, but they really work in almost any lake or river or ocean I've fished. They're just as deadly on the saltwater flats for redfish and pompano as they are in a GA mountain lake or a South Florida pond for bass and crappie.Pro-tip: Get yourself a small pair of stainless hemostats with a curved set of teeth. The upright position of the hook eye on these lures tends to make hook removal a challenge when a fish is hooked on the roof of the mouth, particularly if the fish is small. The hemostats will help tremendously and reduce the risk of harm to the fish.

Nice addition to the tackle box
A bit smaller than I expected, but they seem to work well. They have very good action in the water and seem to be properly weighted.UPDATE:So admittedly, I didn't think too much of these lures at first. Still I decided to give it a try on one of my fishing trips. I threw on a small grub and skeptically tossed it behind the boat about 10 yards away. I let it troll behind us as we drifted into a cove. The reservoir we were at isn't known for crappie so I really had no expectations. Yet all of the sudden, the rod started shaking. I looked back and saw not one, but two large crappie going after this thing! The picture speaks for itself!Needless to say, I'm bumping this up from 4 stars to 5!

Overpriced
You have to read the fine print carefully. I did not realize this was for only 4 roadrunner heads. I need them this weekend so I am not returning but 10 bucks for 4 of these is completely overpriced.

Wish they made these in a smaller hook size with the same weight.....
These roadrunners with the round blades are very nice. I wouldn't say their the best of the best for hard paint, but not too shabby for the price. Mine have held up pretty good so far, but I did have to clear the eyes on a couple, while out in the boat.

YOU CAN'T BEAT A ROADRUNNER
I have been a fisherman for many years. I keep a supply of Blakemore Roadrunners in my tackle box faithfully in 1/8 - 1/4 - and 1/2 ounce size. Chartreuse, white and some red. I have picked up bass, crappie and they are deadly on sandbass down here where I do most of my fishing. GREAT LURE ! !

Getting what I paid for.
Supposed to be 5 in a pack. Only 4 in mine. Heads are deformed. Paint is rubbed off hooks. Used these for 40? yrs. What happened? Are these knockoffs? No clue. Disappointed at $9 a bag of (5) but really 4....
