Nagatanien Matsutake Flavor Osuimono Soup 4.05 Oz (2.3g X 50 Pcs)

My husband loves this soup. Price is reasonable too. The broth / soup is an almost clear & light soy sauce color. It’s very flavorful & goes well with any kind of Asian food including sushi. A few dehydrated goodie’s (green onions & different shaped fish cake pieces) are inside every single serve packet. Just add very hot water (150ml) & let sit for a minute or so, stir & it’s ready. If you like mushrooms, (not the fun kind) you’ll like it. (*•*)

I love these instant soup packets. They remind me of an instant soup that used to be available in the late 1950s. I think (but I'm not sure) that the brand was Kikkoman. What I do recall is that they had an amazing umami flavor, little chunks of what I think was dehydrated tofu and bits of seaweed. I used to always ask my mother to buy them, and in Los Angeles they were relatively easy to find. Nowadays this osuimono soup is the closest thing I can find to what I remember. It's not exactly the same, but it's close enough. If you want something quick and hot to sip while watching the rain or snow, this is your instant soup.

I hate fish and yet didn't realize it had fish in it until I just read some of the reviews so I really don't understand this fishy flavour some other reviews have described. At less than 5¢ a cup it's a really nice soup that will warm you up and not weigh you down. I use 1 packet in 8 Oz. of hot water from the water machine and it's very enjoyable.

Very authentic and delicious and a good value

If you like this kind of soup at the sushi restaurants, you won't be disappointed. It may not be exactly the same taste because every restaurant has slightly different taste but it has the right texture, the right taste and the right consistency. However, just like sushi, not everybody will like the fishy taste. If you can't stand sushi, then you likely will not like this soup. If you're new to Japanese food and want to give this a try, make sure to have an open mind, eat with some dry food and give it a couple of chances, even the first time you didn't like it. You might like it and appreciate the taste more. Keep in mind, taste is a very subjective matter.

This one is the easiest way to suppliant meals.

Great soup and also great to make easy quick pasta

I was really hoping to like this but it is far too fishy. Preparing it is very simple and it comes as described with 50 but the fish taste is overpowering
