These work perfect to add to an aquarium for snails and shrimp to have a little more calcium in the water column. The ingredients are simple and direct. These actually ARE real natural cuttlebones, unlike many sold on Amazon that conveniently forget to tell you that they only contain cuttlebone but are otherwise just oval blocks of minerals. This is literally the bone out of a cuttlefish, with the soft inner chalky layer that can be used to carve into a mold for casting jewelry, and the harder outer shell that is crunchy like fingernail. This is exactly what I needed as a calcium supplement for my isopods and millipedes (they hate the molded stuff). Perfect.

Medium size worked for us

First time ordering these and very happy with them. Packaged very well and only 1 had a chip out of it. True to size and several were almost 9".

I’m not sure why there was even a metal shoved through the bone to begin with but there is and it is extremely rusty and left rust marks along the inside of the bone where it was shoved through. When I was getting it out the bone shattered; the other bone had no metal inside of it but was shattered inside of the package. I think they are old, the one with the rust is definitely old because it’s literally RUSTY. The texture is also off not that of what the bone should be and I don’t think the nutrients are correct because it smells weird too but that may also be because of the rust. I’d like to know why the hell there was even a piece of metal shoved through the inside of the bone to begin with let along a fricking rusty one. Ridiculous. Wtf

Theese cuttlebones are great! I have a Green Cheek Conure who was going through the smaller ones (3.5" - 4") every day. He would chew them up like they were a peppermint candy cane. He wasn't eating them, just breaking them up and throwing the pieces on the floor of his cage. With the new ones, which are as big as he is, he just nibbles on the edges. The problem is, I accidentally threw away the holder for the larger cuttlebones and the holders I have aren't large enough. I tried contacting the company but was directed back to Amazon. I couldn't talk to anyone directly and couldn't get anything resolved. I made it work though.
