VR EMPIRE Universal Wireless Gamepad Controller

Update: I was able to pair and use this with my Kindle Fire 3 times, but then it would not pair again. :(. I tried all of the troubleshooting tips that I could find, but I could not get it to pair again. Because of this and the fact that I could never get it to pair with my Oasis I returned it.This works great to turn pages on my newest Kindle Fire (9th generation), but did not work with my Kindle Oasis (10th generation). Maybe it will work with the newer model Oasis. I use my Oasis the most, so I was pretty disappointed, but I'm keeping the remote to use with the Kindle Fire. I will keep searching for one that works with my Oasis. I haven't played with it enough to fully review all of it's capabilities, but I did pair it with my Samsung Galaxy S6 tablet and was able to use it with the Kindle reading app. I don't use that app much, but it's great to have the option of the remote if I want.

Takes a little research to set up (included instructions don't help for anki). Had to set the slider down, download a third party app (joykey) to set it up for anki on windows. Once figured out, absolutely amazing to have, battery lasts long, very light and practical. Can use it while casting to a TV, on a treadmill, the couch or even sitting more comfortably at a desk with arms in lap. Must have for anki users.

I bought this to use with Anki on my Windows laptop. I've tried it both with my Lenovo and my Surface. It works really well on my Lenovo but on my Surface there is a slight delay which can sometimes be frustrating. Also when using the same controller between the two devices, I have to pair it again with each device.For the price, and how much use I get out of it each day, it's great! When I forget it at home, I definitely miss it. Doing 750+ Anki flash cards a day is made so much easier with this one handed controller.I used JoyToKey for the settings.UPDATE: After months of daily use (1-2 hours per day), the Ok key started to stick and would trigger multiple times. For my Anki set up, I have the Ok key set as the space bare, so this meant it was flipping flash cards before I had a chance to read them and sometimes marking them as Good and then I wouldn't see them again for days or weeks. This wouldn't be terrible if it was a one off occurrence, but it has become too frequent.I love the shape and ergonomics of this controller but looks like I am going to have to try a different brand.

The buttons are sloppy and a bit loose. The trigger button is too clicky and loud.Rudimentarily, it does what I absolutely need it to do. I can navigate with the directionals and select apps / videos with a button BUT it doesn't always work how I would want/expect. Sometimes the trigger can select but sometimes only the face buttons can.. and even then sometimes it's a different button in each app.This may not entirely be the controller's fault but there's other issues too. The mouse mode DOES NOT WORK AT ALL on my samsung s21 and it does not intuitively work with instagram/tik tok as it claims to.The back cover for the battery fits too tightly and is somewhat hard to remove. I can see this being broken in the future during a battery replacement.On the brightside.. It does take photos well with a button click which can be useful.I would not recommend this product at this price. I would not buy this item again either but I'm too lazy to return it. It just barely does it's job enough that I have a use for it.
