Works well...
I had a couple of the same item in white. I tried the light blue / and white matt breakers listed on Amazon and the were ok aside from the handle breaking after about a year. These are durable and cost less!

Helpful for de-matting
Be careful- what helps this tool work are the razor sharp razors. I was taught to carefully use this tool by a groomer. It is Great for helping work through mats but you can hurt the dog or yourself if you’re not careful.NOT a design flaw- this tool works great! Just be careful if you’re new to using a tool like this.

Best thing I've gotten to get mats out
Well worth it. I have a bunch of professional combs for my long haired cat. None work as well as this one on thick clumps of fur. This is the only thing that works besides using scissors. It still takes a long time to get all the mats out, but eventually you'll get there. It is really sharp. Be careful not to cut yourself.I am buying a second one. This lasted eight months. It's starting to get a little dull.

Effective
I’ve been grooming my poodles for 25 years and have always had one of these. It is great for removing mats with as little pulling as possible. Your dog will appreciate this mat breaker.

Good, just not for my dog.
This decanter is actually made pretty solid for the price. I like it. It just doesn't work for my dog, a soft-coated wheaten terrier. The blades seem sharp, but it struggled in my dog's thick hair. A smaller dog or something with a little thinner hair, or a cat may be better suited. Take it for what it is worth, but I will spend a little more and get something slightly more robust.
