25mm width for tight space
I was trying to figure out how to mount the ZWO ASI Air+ astrophotography controller to a couple of small setups I was building to do AP with a couple of DSLR cameras and telephoto lens. One of the requirements was being able to share components between the two configurations and I didn't want to have to unscrew everything any time I wanted to do this. Then I hit upon the idea of using this small 25mm Arca Swiss clamps and QR plate. It worked out very well. I can quickly loosen the Arca clamp and remove the Air+ controller, place it on the other configuration, tighten the clamp there and hook up the second set of cables already in place, all in less time than it would take me to get the tools to unscrew everything. The clamp / QR plate added miniscule amount of extra weight to the overall mount loading so no problem there either. Using a full size 50mm or larger would have been overkill for this purpose. Best of both worlds. Sometimes you just got to think outside the box and imagine the unimaginable.Quick free shipping with Amazon Prime (best deal in shopping I have ever used).

Good Product Once You Know
This is a good Arca Swiss style mount and plate. The one thing good to know is (at least with mine) it grabs differently on the side that moves on the mount. This makes it so you need to tip an Arca Swiss plate towards the side that moves to attach and again remove. I've tried it with a couple plates from other manufacturers...same thing. It's not a big problem and I tend to get any gear secured slowly because it's usually worth the most. I thing I tend to tip into the non-moving side.I like the size a lot because size equals weight and I use this on lighter weight tripods or extension arms. It's the smallest mount I own so far which may be a good reason to pay attention anyway. I would buy it again, -M-

No thanks
Arca Swiss. Measurement of the plate is off. Tried it on numerous Arca Swiss clamps as well (higher price & quality) and the plate slides out on some. Clamp is rough to tighten. Not the best tolerances. Not worth the trouble to return.

Not large enough...
The Arca plate is exactly what I was expecting and looking for.The clamp is too small. I have a few other arca plates on some other equipment and none of them fit into the clamp. It does not open wide enough. Also, the knob to tighten and loosen 'grinds' a bit when using it which makes it really difficult to turn.If I were only using this plate with this clamp, I would give it 4 starts but the fact that my other plates do not fit and the grinding wheel make it 3.

Only Half Useful
Pro 01: It is smaller than most other ARCA-type mountsCon 01: Mounting clamp does not tighten on mounting plate. The two safety nubs are the only thing keeping the mounting plate from falling out so there is play in the connection. It makes a noticeable click when it is moved so this isn't good for recording videos.Con 02: Tightening knob isn't smooth and is hard to turn. There is a point where it requires extra effort to continue tightening.
