Had a gas leak on one valve of my gas grill--its grease had "dried out". Weber would not sell me just the one valve, they required the purchase of the entire manifold tibe and nine valves! Now, not just every lubricant can be used on rotary gas valves but this is one. Propane gas will eventually break down petroleum based lubes and because this microthin layer is essential to maintain the seal between the moving members of plug-style valves, petroleum lubes are prohibited as they can cause gas leaks. Being synthetic, this product has no such limitation and has been used for decades by old-head HVAC guys like myself. Especially good for just about any application in direct contact with rubber. I even put it on the large o-ring netween the two halves of my swimming pool filter. Makes it easy to disassemble for cleaning.
