Van NessCalm Carrier (for Cats Up to 20 Lbs.)

This was sooo helpful with our 19 year old cat that hated getting into a crate. It's very well made, and worked like a charm. The opening is a nice size, the tray pulls out nice and long. Place cat onto the tray and slide it back in. Done. No scratches, biting... No drama. As far as the appearance, it's nice too, easy to assemble and fell my cat was safe to travel in it as well. I pulled the seatbelt through the handle while driving to keep Mr. B safe. We adopted another cat and the shelter wanted to know where I got it from.

This crate is not worth any amount of money. While the idea behind it is great, it is extremely cheaply made and in my opinion, only good for an extremely small and lightweight cat (not even close to the 20lb listed as the max weight). The plastic is soft and flexible and the handle comes off right away and can’t be used. I was transporting my cat in my car on a 500 mile trip, and stopped along the freeway to buy a more secure, safe crate for the duration of the trip.

My vet suggested I get this carrier for my new rescue kitty. It’s really sturdy & great quality too. The idea that I’m able to put my cat in & just slide the door closed & lock instead of struggling to push him in, is a brilliant concept. It makes life so much easier & less stressful for me as well as my boy. I highly recommend!

I am having a difficult time putting this together (I'm not very mechanically inclined). While I love the concept, I had to set it aside as I was getting aggravated trying to put the door on where it would stay put and also getting the top on. As of now, I have not been able to get it together. I'll try again later, and may try to edit this review.

This was easy to assemble, it made loading and unloading my cat very convenient. However, the quality is lacking. The plastic material is thin and flimsy, the carry handle is useless! My cat is 12lbs, the carrier is supposed to be rated for 20lbs, yet the handle pops off the second you try to lift it. The front gate leaves a bit to be desired as well; the hood doesn't line up correctly with the latching mechanism, so it takes some work to get the gate secured.Overall, a great concept, but needs some work on the design implementation and quality of materials.

My favorite carrier of all time. My cat just goes in the drawer part thinking it's a cool box and I slide it in. No problems. I wouldn't hold it with just the handle, I don't trust that handle, but other than that it's great! Second one for second cat. My ex didn't want to give up the first one I bought. My cat likes to hang out in it so I leave it open lol. She'll bring her toys in there.. great carrier, 👍

This makes getting a cat, especially older/such cats in and out very easy. Also makes it easy to get cats who hate carriers into it. Every single vet employee who's seen this carrier just raves how much they love it.

Was not super easy to put together despite looking like it would be.The plastic is very flimsy. I would not and will not be trusting this to hold my18lb cat despite its 20lb rating.The vet dropped the carrier today becasue the handle came off (And that was with my 19 year old 5lb cat in it that is on hospice care!!!) The handle is perhaps the worst piece of crap ever made. Barely fits in the space its supposed to (handle is a bit to small to fit properly)The concept of the pull out part is great! But the manufacturing is very bad.All in all, I would never buy this again. It is dangerous due to the handle itself.Save you money and get something sturdier.

I moved to a new city recently. It was about a 5 hours and my cat was content and comfortable for the whole ride. I like the slide out tray feature, it made it easy to give him pets and keep him calm.

This has been great for one 6.5KG cat that has regular vet visits. It is much easier to get him in and out, the vets loved the ease of use too. Two of my other cats are happy to put themselves in this carrier and like being slid in and out.

I really enjoy this carrier. My cat can be hard to stuff in through a door but he willingly went into the container

Great design idea. Cats are happy and calmed in it.A little fiddly to install. Where gate clipped in could be better. Not sure of the strength of the product. It is light weight. Solved the problem of going to the Vet on a regular basis.
