I purchased this for my shelf amp with a 6.5" built in subwoofer. The original speaker was blown so I replaced it with a 8" subwoofer speaker. I needed a new speaker cover, so I purchased this one.The grill is made of very durable metal, I did need to use a 1" spacer to space the grill out and away from the subwoofer speaker otherwise it would have touched.This will work for some speakers but not most without a spacer, because it's shallow and most subwoofers stick out, unless you have it recessed. so keep that in mind.Shipping was fast! The item was packaged well! Definitely recommend!!

Unfortunately I couldn't use this grille for my application, but the quality and finish of the product is exactly what I was looking for. It just ended up being the wrong size for what I needed.

So I needed these for a sub box on the passenger side floor of my Silverado, this damn Steel is sturdy enough and has slight give under moderate pressure and does what I needed allowing me to still do truck things with my truck. The trouble is these are not high excursion. With a Planet Audio 10 inch subwoofer running 510 Watts certified RMS the Excursion was enough at just below half volume to hit the inside of the steel making a horrific noise. The way I got around it was putting a 1-in spacer underneath to raise the metal cover 1 in and it'll work for now because I'm getting an under seat box for the rear of the cab which will make this redundant. Just know that this is definitely the best for the money but it's not as high Excursion as you would like to think. With a little modification Anything is Possible

If you use the ring, air will escape since it doesn't seal completely unless you use a seal or gasket type of thing. Not really recommended for professional use since the bass won't hit as hard and you'll be able to hear the air coming out

Ive trying many grills to protect my subwoofer they either failed or cause damage to my subs. These let your subs breathe while they protect. Highly recommend.
