Safe-T-Plus United Safety 41230 Blue Safe-T-Plus Steering Control Apparatus

Our 1990 class A 30' was the most unsafe vehicle I ever driven in my 50 years of life. I couldn't control the steering that was bouncing or moving all over place about to sideswipe anything around me on the freeway. I was terrified. It felt like trying to dock a ship during a bad storm with high winds and waves. After doing a research I found this product, I called them and provided them with my VIN# as well as measurements since our motorhomes manufacturer doesn't exist anymore. Their technical staff as well as the lady that answer my call was phenomenal, this people are definitely the true definition of customer care and service. They guided us remotely through the process of installation along with the very easy instructions. My husband installed it in about 3 hrs. (Our system is very complicated). Ever since he installed this device for me, I was no longer terrified, the rig drove beautiful, I could even grab the steering sheel with one hand and for the first time Inwas relaxed. I knew this time I was in control and my life would be preserved as well as that of all others arouns me. We own approx 12 RVs, I usually drive any type of rig, all the way to a 40' diesel pusher. I can assure you that hands down this product is a life saver. Best investment of my life. My husband is a mechanic and was able to do the job very easily. But if you are not mechanically savvy you really should take it to a shop to have it installed properly

Safe t plus is well known amongst Class A motorhome owners. When adjusted correctly, it helps prevent wander and fatigue, that is an issue on long drives. I’m very pleased, this was a good price. (You will need the proper installation kit for your model RV)

This works well keeping the steering centered on my motorhome. Easy to install but a little bit of a pain to get perfectly adjusted

Installed this on 2010 Holiday Rambler Arista, based youtube videos and Amazon reviews. Made a Huge difference in my application. As stated by others, can drive with one hand now. I would have to say it is definitely worth the money. I don't understand why the manufacturer of motorhomes are not installing these. Safety plus solved a BIG safety issue with this product. $500.00 dollars is a small price when it comes to mine or others life or death.

Major improvement of drivability. Driving a coach will never be like driving a car, but I can drive comfortably with one hand with the Safe-T-Plus. I would recommend anyone attempting to install this themselves do a few things. #1. Use an Impact driver, seriously. This came with the tightest top lock nuts I have ever used in my life. (I've worked in an assembly plant for 20 yrs). Even though they where very difficult to install even with the impact, I know they aren't coming loose from road vibration. #2. Use a heat source like propane or MAPP gas torch to heat original hardware where the frame bracket is installed. These are often very tight and because they are under the coach, they are more than likely rusted together. #3. install anchor bracket hardware to proper spec. Instructions stated to tighten 3/4 inch hardware to 90 ft. lbs. That is probably sufficient for the hardware that goes through the Safe-T-Plus itself, however, the hardware that goes through the frame/steer components should be torqued to industry specs. In my case, Freightliner XC, these were 3/4-16 bolts and should be 295 ft. lbs. Other than those few little details, This has probably been the best purchase I've made for the coach.... other than the coach itself ;-)
