Amazing for double cleansing
A million thanks to the Sephora team member who casually pointed me towards the INKEY list--the entire line has been blowing my mind! If you're looking for a nice, unfussy balm to take off your makeup before using another cleanser to wash your face (aka double cleansing), this is a fantastic option. I've tried all kinds of makeup removing balms from low to high price points, and the INKEY List Oat Cleansing Balm is my new favorite. You get plenty of it for the price, which is great since I don't believe most brands when they say a dime-sized amount will take off all your makeup in every circumstance. Even if a little does go a long way, I wear a full face of makeup every day and need at least a quarter's worth of any balm to get everything off to my liking. This bottle is going to last me a good while, and it will go even farther for people who prefer the less is more model.More importantly, the formula is awesome, one of those simple and to the point gems. It's both gentle and very effective, a win/win for super sensitive/oily/prone to some serious hormonal acne skin like mine. It's a little thicker than some of the other balms I've tried, but that's been a plus for me. It feels like it's really gripping the makeup on my face rather than just slip-sliding around the top layers of it. This balm also just FEELS clean, if that makes sense--it's not chemical-y at all, it doesn't have any added scents, but it also doesn't smell too strongly or too strangely without them. Most makeup removing balms out there don't sting my eyes, but plenty do get into my eyes and leave a bit of a blurring film. It's another win/win situation with this balm: it removes every bit of makeup off my eyes (no morning raccoon eyes!) but doesn't stick around once I wipe it clean. For clarity, I do use a makeup eraser to wipe the balm off, which I think is a game-changing step no matter what balm you use. After I'm done double cleansing, my skin never feels tight, dry or itchy in between the cleansing and moisturizing steps, and the gentle formula in this balm is a big part of that. I've seen a couple reviewers who say their skin felt greasy after using the balm, but for my part, I've never experienced that. That might be more of an issue if you want to use this as a standalone cleanser, but my skin just feels soft and makeup-free when I use it, even before I reach for the cleanser to complete my double cleanse. In all, I love this simple and effective balm, and I'll definitely be adding it to my subscribe and save list. For the price and the quality, it's won me over from reaching for any other brand I've tried before.

Awesome for red sensitive skin.
I have dry, sensitive, easily irritated mild rosacea skin. Especially my cheeks. This oat cleanser works better than even Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser because when I wake up in the am the redness is GONE. This oat cleanser does leave a residue but I think that’s the oil and fatty acids staying on my skin and healing it. I follow-up with Alpyn toner after cleansing + Vit C serum from Vanicream and their lite moisturizer. So far I haven’t had break outs. I dont wear a lot of make up and I don’t use this to remove my eye makeup. So I can’t speak about that.In the summer I use a thicker mineral sunscreen so I will probably continue using this as that type of sunscreen can be drying.Try the mini size out if you’re unsure!

Reliable
I think this cleansing balm would cleanse better BUT it is reliable. I feel like it gets the job done for removing my makeup and it is very moisturizing. It doesn’t remove my blackheads like the Anya cleansing oil does but it also doesn’t break me out the way that the Anua cleansing oil does. I had switched to that one to try it out hoping it would remove my blackheads and it did but after seeing how it broke me out in a weird sort of fungal acne I went back to this one and my skin recovered so if you had a similar reaction to the anua one, this one might be for you. I’ve yet to find a cleansing oil or balm that removes my blackheads but doesn’t break me out. For now, this one gets the job done and doesn’t break me out as long as I follow up with a water based cleanser as you should with any oil based cleanser anyway!

One of the best facial cleansers
I do not use this product twice a day everyday. Why? This cleanser is so rich using it alone twice a day everyday actually turns my dry skin oily. That said I will still use it even if my face is oily because the only other cleanser that keeps my break outs in check, SA cleanser, drys out my skin. So I use them in conjunction. Sometimes one is the morning and the other at night. If I’m wearing makeup it’s both at night. The balm gets the makeup off and the SA deep cleans my pores. It’s like using swiffer after sweeping or vacuuming because you know they missed stuff but if you used swiffer from the beginning you would go through a whole box unnecessarily. Oat cleansing balm is a must have in my skin care regimen.

Hate, but kinda don't hate
I don't quite know what to think about this cleanser. I have not heard anyone say it has particles in it. Mine has bits of something (beds or something) which make it impossible to safely remove eye makeup. I cannot use physical exfoliators around my sensitive eyes, plus I don't want them getting in my eyes. Once I rinse my skin, the particles wash off leaving a residue. The residue does not come off with a second cleanse. Now, I know this would mean I would give this a one star and I gave it a three. SO here is why I am confused. This leaves my skin super moisturized. I have dry sensitive skin and it has been smooth and moisturized all week. I hate it, but I mean... I don't hate soft skin! I also love the price. So here I am ... confused. Seriously though...what are the particles?

SKIN COMBONATION DRY AND OILY***
This product is amazing!!! (I'm someone with a dry forehead but oily nose and near cheeks so I am a combination of both which does make it difficult for products) I wasn't sure in the beginning because of the texture but I've been using for almost a year and I use this every other time I shower and It makes my skin like butter. Literally all my acne pumps feeling more dissolved and smaller and make my dry forehead so soft and my oily nose absorbed. Totally recommend for dry or oily skin Or both!!! And I'm also someone who is so picky but this is amazing if you have the type of need for it!!! Doesn't have a smell really more natural than anything which is amazing.
