I probably own 50 hair products. Yes, I'm an OCD psycho. Extremely picky. And my hair grows ridiculously fast. If I don't get it cut every two weeks minimum, I will have at least 3 different hair styles depending on the length. All will require different types of goop. This is overall the best I've used. It gives the perfect amount of healthy sheen (not oily looking or feeling) and just the right hold. My search is finally over, at least until they discontinue it, since that's how life usually goes.

When I was younger i used to use a lot of gel to spike my hair, but then as I got older, I began to like more of a natural look. So then I Became less of a fan of putting things in my hair, especially Gel. I stopped using hair products for a long time. But then I started learning more about products that make my hair look nice yet still natural at the same time. So I gave this and the Baxter clay pomade a shot and they nailed it. It smells nice, works great, and doesn't leave your hair feeling all nasty or like you have stuff in it at all. It has a nice strong hold and adds real nice volume and texture. It's a really good product and I would recommend it to anyone.

Three hours later I had a head of puffy straw-like hair. It didn't hold, it didn't shine. This is the point where I usually say "you should try this particular product instead." You need to leave your hair a little damp when you apply this stuff. If you don't, then it will flake off all over the place and turn your hair into a puff. This item does give shine but no hold whatsoever. Overpriced maybe because it comes in a glass container but other than that no real justification for the price. This has no hold! If you want something with a strong hold - try the Rocky Mountain barber shop pomade! - UPDATE -I combined the Baxter with the Rocky Mountain firm pomade and get excellent results

As I've gotten older, my dandruff has gotten worse. I have curly, thick hair and it needs a lot of hydration, and the wrong product can cause... buildup. All over my scalp. I have short normal hair. The hold on the hardwater pomade is much less firm than the clay pomade, contrary to what the hardwater says.It's a medium hold that wears off after a couple hours. Medium finish; nothing special. If I could do it again, I'd avoid buying this.

I bought this for my fiancé so I picked his brain to write this review. He says he really liked this product because it holds throughout the entire day and washes out easily in the shower. He also really liked that it didn't take much product to accomplish the look he wanted, even in his thicker coarse hair. He often has a problem with gel that needs to be applied thickly and then doesn't wash out of his hair, so he was glad to find this gel.Even though he really liked this gel, he now uses another product only because he is trying to achieve a different look with his hair now. This one was a hard hold, so it gave his hair a slicked back look. He did say that if he wanted the slicked back look again, he would definitely buy this again.

I was introduced to this product while living in the bay area and will not use any other hair styling product! I hate that it has not made it to the east coast (I live in South Florida) yet! It is the best I have used in years; not to mention it is a quality product. The fact that a product still can be found in glass containers (hair gels and pomades) should show a mark of its quality! Try it, you will not be disappointed.
