Very glad I bought this product!I own a Salida 4 for camping and simply use a tarp for the ground cloth (or footprint as they call it now). I recently bought a Salida 2 for backpacking. I didn't want to pack in a heavy, bulky tarp for use as a footprint so I bought the footprint made for my tent from Kelty. It is perfect in every way. Of course, I wish that the tent came with a footprint because I, like most people, want more for my money. Heck, I wish that my new car came with a car cover....but.....Pros:- strong enough to keep sticks and rocks from wearing through the tent floor- water proof- perfect size (doesn't extend past the tent bottom so water will not be channeled under the tent from rain)- attaches quickly and securely to the tent- light weight- packs down small and fits into the tent bag- comes with it's own bag if you don't care to roll it up and place in tent bag- easy to clean- extends the life of your tent floor- easier and cheaper to replace than the tentCons:- noneI would suggest this product to a friend. If my friend were using the Salida 2 for backpacking, I would strongly advise him to buy this product!

This footprint is the perfect size for the 2 person Salida tent. Color coded to ensure you’ve got it on the ground in the right orientation. I got this to help keep the likelihood I’d destroy the main tent bottom to a minimum. If I tear the footprint, no biggie. I’ll buy another. Though that seems unlikely. It’s light, yet much more durable than the material would lead you to believe. A plus is the added benefit of increased water intrusion protection, along with its light weight and ease of rolling it up to store it in the main tent bag keeps it accessible and easy to put away, and easy to find next time I need it without the possibility of forgetting to take it along. All along, a win, win solution at a fairly affordable price.

I actually purchased this to use as a floor for my REI Connect Tech Garage. After hours of checking dimensions over and over with other tent footprints, the Salida 4 came pretty close, so I ordered one up just in time for a weekend camping trip. Turns out that this was as close to perfect size as I could imagine. With the footprint squared even with the Connect Tech's farthest square end, I found that I could tuck the footprint about 2 inches underneath my main tent footprint to create one long floor underneath my tent and the garage add-on. The end straps on this footprint also match up with my REI footprint. The material is nice and tough too, feels like it will last for many camping adventures to come.

This footprint is made of the same material as the base of the tent so it's not that much thicker or stronger. It just adds an extra layer of protection as opposed to having your tent lay raw on the ground. But because it's not that thick, you still have to be careful where you lay your tent down. This will definitely help your tent's life last twice as long, with proper care.It packs light, it's easy to fold up, waterproof, and cleans easily. I'm sure I'll have to replace this after a dozen or so uses, but it's better to replace the footprint than the entire tent IMO! Solid buy.

I haven't used it, but the material is less like a tarp and more identical to the flimsy, thin tent material itself. I don't see it help that much. I was using a rescue blanket/tarp and just tossing that down. Thought this would be better b/c of the tight fit - will update after usage.Update: used this footprint about 5 times now. While the material is absolutely identical to the tent wall material, it is deceivingly strong. It makes a huge difference and is super easy to put up. I also find myself using it as a throw down when taking a rest, having a snack, reorganizing my pack, etc. I love it!

some trips, i end up camping in blackberry fields and gravel streambeds. this footprint is about the same thickness & durability as the tent's floor, which is not enough for thorns or sharp rocks. that said, most people do not camp how i travel & this is plenty strong for years of "regular people" adventures. also, built to match footprints are a bit smaller than the tent floor, so i double up & use a hardware store tarp under & around this & my salida 2. overall, i'd say it works great for what it is supposed to do.

I recently went on a 1 night backpacking trip where it rained constantly after we went to sleep up until me and the other backpackers left the campsite. Packing up wasn’t fun but the footprint did a great job of keeping the tent dry and fit perfectly with my 2 person Kelty Salida tent. As others have stated, not a fan of the price tag. Feel like $38 is steep. That’s the only reason I give 4 out of 5 stars.

This was a bit expensive, but for me, it's worth it to keep the bottom of my tent clean and dry. It gives a little extra protection against tears in the bottom of the tent, too. It's super light, compact, and easy to pack. I was expecting an odd-shape, but it's just a rectangle, which matches the bottom of the tent. It works, and I don't have to figure out how to make my own and have it be just as light and compact.

I bought this recently for our tent. We recently went on a 2 day camping trip with it and it did well to protect the bottom of our tent from the gravel. It is also very compact. My only issue is the price. For what it is, it is quite expensive considering the size and the quality of the thin material it is made of.
