OspreyMen's Talon 11 Hiking Pack

Great features for such a small size
Adequate small rucksack for a summer day hike. Plenty of optional storage options. Only downside is the bungee system at the back. I’d prefer the elastic mesh that I have on my larger Talon’s. More secure and neater for gaiters etc.

Good quality, although could be improved.
Having now used this bag multiple times through several seasons and mostly for 8hrs+ a time I feel I’m suitably experienced to comment on the perks and drawbacks of the bag.1. It’s very comfortable; those who are saying it is uncomfortable are most likely either wearing it incorrectly (a fitting guide is available on the Osprey website) or have purchased the incorrect size for their body type.2. For such a small bag (11ltrs) there’s a multitude of different features which maximise the relatively small capacity. (Very stretchy side pockets, hip belt pockets for phone/ snacks, walking pole attachments, ice axe attachments etc) these all make for a very useful compact bag.3. The clever design and ergonomic fitting work very well with hiking / scrambling and don’t hamper balance or movement when climbing up/over rocks.4. Very durable material, can’t imagine it tearing or falling to bits easily. High quality components / zips, pull cords / clips.Drawbacks:1. Osprey branding wears off easily (not a big issue but doesn’t look very smart)2. Air scape ventilation system isn’t the greatest in hot temperatures (a trampoline system works better)3. There is a dedicated clip for a hydration sleeve, but it bows under the weight of water. (Poor design)4. The hydration sleeve entrance is very tight even with the correct Osprey hydration pack, so is tricky to get in and out.5. Doesn’t come with a rainproof cover. For the retail price it ideally should be waterproof or have a dedicated pull out cover. (Currently available separately)Overall happy with the bag, but certainly could be tweaked and improved for the 2022 version. It’s a shame these issues weren’t discovered and dealt with in the R&D process. Lowe Alpine may offer more complete solution for a comparible price.

Osprey
Absolutely fantastic bit of kit, you can hardly feel it once you have tightened the straps correctly, lightweight and good airflow to prevent sweating, excellent for hiking and more than enough space for all sorts.

excellent
Top quality bag. My partner and I love them. We have red, orange, black , limon and emerald, . Thats 22, 20, 11 and 9. (all small ) But the 11 is the most useful size for day trips. Be aware the small version is a little smaller . We are 4foot 11 and 5foot 4 , the small length fits best if you are 5'6" or under..I tried the long one and had to exchange for short. They are classed as male and female but we cant see any difference.

Great for running
Check out the size on their website, is important to get the right size. Also this bag doesn't have rain cover but that was not an issue for me. I run to work (6k) and this bag is great for that.I carry a shirt a small lunch box very comfortable.

Needed a nice bag - still need a nice bag
I was very surprised at the low quality of this bag, being OspreyI just wanted a nice bag to go on Holiday with, something nice looking and practical. As for nice looking, the logo came off almost immediately (which I think someone else also has reviewed here)And as for practical, the straps are constantly loose, while on holiday I completely lost 1 of them as I wasn't using it, and it just feel off due to the design - any strap on this bag for adjustment is not right, all slides off and extremely poorly designed and poorly made,The bag is also super super small but that is my fault for picking this sizeGo buy a north face or something

Fantastic small backpack with space for water bladder
Absolutely fantastic small backpack for day hikes. I bought the Osprey Talon 11 and 22 backpacks for a hiking and mountain biking trip in southern Utah. The packs are amazingly comfortable for all day hikes. We hiked multiple days hiking 10 to 15 miles per day. We also biked Slickrock and other area trails wearing the backpacks with Full to nearly water bladders.I found the packs to be exceptionally comfortable, even when they were fully loaded. I typically earn a pretty good neck-ache and headache after wearing a backpack. With these, I was not bothered at all. They were also very comfortable to hike and bike in as they did not shift around with the chest and waist straps. The helmet attachment points are nice touch. Water bottle holders are nice as well. The waist strap pockets are very functional and I could fit my iPhone ProMax into the waist strap pocket for easy access.I know these bags cost a lot however, I found the comfort and usability to provide excellent value. I did not find a large difference in the usable sizes between 11 and the 22L. They are different sized but not double. I highly recommend these bags.Note, the water bladders are an extra purchase. I would say they were also worth it with the easy open full width top, and the waterlines being made with a detachment point in the middle of the line, which does not allow any water to escape. Very well designed. The water bladder slides into slot between the back pad and the pack itself.

schöner leichter praktischer Rucksack
Der Rucksack ist leicht, stabil, praktisch mit einem großen Hauptfach und zwei kleinen Fächern, wo man die Geldbörse oder das Handy gut verstauen kann.
