These are great beans for home roasting
I was not convinced when these arrived as there seemed to be quite a variation in the size and colour of the green beans, but my in for a penny in for a pound attitude kicked in. I looked online for clues as to how to roast these and it seems they need to be taken to the cusp of a city roast and not rushed in the process. Using the original 50G IKAWA home roaster I developed the attached recipe (see images) and I was still wary as while some beans were definitely at that city roast point, others seemed much lighter. I let them de-gas for a week and have just made my first latte using my SAGE Oracle Touch. Tuning the beans the grind size was set to 8 (I have no idea if this setting will work for other users and you will need to calibrate for a new bean as usual). WOW ... reservations went out the window. This is so sweet in a latte with all that nutty caramel and an explosive crema that blends with the milk foam and has delivered me the best coffee I've had in weeks. Let me know if my IKAWA roast profile works for you.

Tasted stale and woody, lacking fresh aroma
Not recommendCompared to other Ethiopian green beans of a similar grade, these beans have a rough appearance. Using the same roasting equipment, the roast time nearly doubled, with no distinct first or second crack. After roasting, the beans exhibited an uneven color. The resulting coffee tasted stale and woody, lacking any fresh aroma

Lovely
Bought for my son's new coffee roaster as a present. They roast beautifully, and make lovely coffee. We've used a medium roast (about 24 minutes at 180°C, but it varies with weight of beans); when cool we sieve to remove the chaff and then leave a day before starting to use, medium grind in a cafètiere).Great fun, lovely coffee, amazing aroma from roasting.

Quite disappointed with the taste of the Limu
Used a popcorn maker to roast them found the taste very disappointing almost Grassy taste, tried differing roast levels, they were ok to drink if blended with other beans but on their own I was disappointed.I thought maybe it was my roasting process but i have just bought a selection of different beans somewhere else and thay are not like this at all so it must be the beans themselves.

Top quality green beans
I think a couple of reviewers didn’t realise these weren’t roasted, hence bad reviews. I’ve tried a number of brands of green beans and these are the best. When roasted they make fantastic coffee.

The best of the best!
No turning back to pre-roasted coffee after this!I was referred to this brand by an Ethiopian coffee expert and this is all I’ve ever wanted! Now I can also choose how I roast my coffee beans and it’s always worth the wait
