I have never owned a PH meter before, so I don't have any way to rigorously compare accuracy, however according to google, distilled water has a PH of around 5.4 to 5.7, this meter shows around 5.70 when I tested it in distilled water, so it seems accurate enough for my purposes - which are creating plant fertigation mixtures. The only thing I wasn't 100% sure about was if I'm supposed to dry the probe at all before storing it, the instructions say specifically not to touch the probe (make sense). So I have just been swirling it in distilled water and then replacing the cap while the unit is still a bit wet. Hopefully, that doesn't cause any issues, because I would like to continue using this instrument for a long time.

Digital ph meter I got this for my fish tank so I could test my water to make sure my tank ph level wouldn’t get too high it been very accurate and very easy to use I love knowing that my fish are safe highly recommended

Numbers jump around a lot even when not in water, but overall easy to use and gets the job done after some time. Reading is good enough for my purposes.

The pH meter is nice and simple, however, if the meter doesn't work with accuracy it is useless. I tried to calibrate the pH meter with the dry packets that are given as pH buffers when placed in water and used for calibration. This is a disappointing purchase and it may have just been odds were not in my favor.Please send me a brand new meter and please make sure it is able to be calibrated before sending to myself (consumer).Thank you,Tyler Smith

I'm a scientist for a living; so I've had some experience with expensive pH meters in the lab. I bought this little unit to test the pH of my spa, as the test strips were giving me a funky reading.This unit is similar in concept to the larger lab units with a probe. If you calibrate the unit with the included buffers, according to the included instructions, it will give an accurate reading. I used positive controls of orange juice (acid) and our tap water (alkaline) and both readings were in line with my expectation. However, you have to give the meter a lot of time to reach its true reading. Submerge the probe for a good minute or two and let it stabilize.Only downside is the buffers themselves. I wish we were told what the ingredients are (for purposes of safe disposal), and also that there were several packages instead of just one per pH.

Kind of difficult to calibrate at first. And there was only one of each calibration powder so if you messed up you find yourself reordering powder. Wish they would include multiple calibration powder packets. Takes a few seconds longer than expected and you have to hold the meter completely still to get a steady reading. When I calibrated mine it took 3 or 4 attempts because my meter wouldn’t calibrate on the 3rd glass (9.18ph)... it just kept flashing 6.86... so I kept restarting. Eventually I did get it calibrated but idk if I can trust the calibration and I can’t recalibrate it again because I only got one of each packet. Hope it works. I used Kirkland brand water to calibrate but even though it’s distilled it says minerals were added. Not sure if that affects the ph of the distilled water.

The pH tester was shipped quickly. The instructions were clear and accurate covering all aspects of calibrating and testing. Usage after calibrating is fast with an easy to read digital screen. Well worth the money. :)

This is our second purchase of this item. We did not calibrate our first one when we received it and it didn't last as long, due to us failing to read the instructions before first use, so we learned a valuable lesson with this one. Read the instructions!!! Make sure you calibrate it before your first use. We use it all the time for our aquaponics system and it works great! Accurate and easy to read.
