Maybe I should've chosen a better headline because this dictionary is great for most writing purposes. I've been using a version of this one for probably 20 years or more for my students. It's designed for middle school through adult users but I've found it very helpful for even fourth and fifth graders. This newer version has thousands more entries than the older version in the same size book which makes the print considerably smaller which might be problematic for some users. The main reason I like this book for students is the way the thesaurus. is separate on the lower half of the page. Students in the process of building their vocabulary can easily locate and use antonyms and synonyms without reading an entire definition. Conversely, the definition and related information is easy to find and understand. The language is not difficult and the book is jammed full of other helpful information. Online dictionaries are not going to supply a wealth of information at your fingertips like this. I highly recommend this book for anyone in need of a dictionary.
