Q: Can somebody help me with the dimensions of both openings? I have a hitch that is male 1 1/4 and I would like to know if this fits.

If you have a female 2'' on your vehicle, a male 1 1/4 will fits perfect. This is a 2'' female to 1 1/4'' reducer. If your vehicle is already 1 1/4'' female and you look for and extension this is not going to fit.

Q: Will I be able to connect my bike rack to this extender with my F-150 tailgate down?

No, it doesn't extend that far. It extends far enough to attach a bike hitch giving good clearance from the car on a Kia Sportage. When I use it on my Ram 1500 I have to remove the hitch to lower the tailgate.

Q: Not for use when towing a trailer? This is what I need it for. If not for trailer hookup, then what good is it?

Thats exactly my thoughts. I need to convert 2" to 1.25" for towing. I hope there is one like this to do the job?
