Richard Scarry's a Day at the Airport (Random House Picturebacks)

Massively entertaining for 2 and 3 year old boys!
My 2 year old boy absolutely ADORES this book! Every day he asks for it, he calls it the "Airbook". He is completely fascinated by all the different parts of the airport and how Rudolf the fox is so naughty taking his plane inside the terminal. He loves looking at all the little details: how Hilda Hippo tries to take all her furniture on the plane, how Mr Frumble is chasing his hat on every page, all the different shops with toys, books, clocks (a raccoon carrying away a grandfather click over his shoulder) and groceries (Bananas Gorilla being good for once and only buying ONE banana ). He loves the sequence of events and all the preparations that have to be made to ready a plane for take off. His vocabulary has expanded: "Follow-me- car", "runway", "control tower". His favourite page is Rudolf huge balloon, he always points to it and says "Pop!" as he recalls the ending where Rudolf takes the cat children home and snags his balloon on their weather vane. Immensely educational and hugely fun.

Small book but good for travel
Bought this book for our two year olds first flight. It came quickly but was disappointed that it was much smaller than all the other Scarry books we have ever bought. In hindsight should have checked the product dimensions rather than assume. The book is great and was perfect for our little ones first flight. I would recommend a bigger version for anyone on a flight longer than a few hours though!

keeps him occupied
I grew up with Richard Scarry books and loved them. This is a short story but still has all the elements you'd expect, fantastic pictures and situations. Some of the drawings of the vehicles can look quite dated now, but my little boy still loves it and its kept him amused for hours looked for characters/cars etc. For me its a trip down memory lane so equally as enjoyable for me

Already the most requested book at bedtime...
My daughter absolutely loves Richard Scarry books, just as I did when I was a kid. Though this book is the same age as I am, it's still utterly brilliant and the late Richard Scarry's detailed anthropomorphic animal madness is still as fun and chaotic as it always was.Great little book full of superb slapstick. Love it.

Great for the grandchildren
My son loved Richard Scarry books when he was young so bought this for our two young grandaughters who will be flying out on holiday for the first time soon. Scarry books haven't dated, they're colourful and informative. Hopefully the girls will enjoy looking at it with their parents and enjoy Richard Scarry as much as their daddy!
