Out of what type of metal is this constructed:  ferrous or non-ferrous?

Steel is made from a combination of iron and carbon, usually alloyed with other elements.  Stainless steel will at minimum also contain chromium, which makes it more rust resistant.  The barrels being used here are not stainless steel.  I am presuming that you are asking because ferrous materials (those containing iron) will react with oxygen to create rust.  Obviously, a steel drum (just like an auto-body) will contain iron, so yes, it will be ferrous, and susceptible to rust.  
  Some of the replies stated that you could tell if steel contains iron based on its magnetism.  This is NOT a reliable indicator of magnetism.  Some steels are ferromagnetic (containing iron and magnetic, like 440 or 17-4 stainless steels commonly used in silverware).  Other varieties of steel are diamagnetic (nonmagnetic, like Inconel or A-286 stainless steels commonly used in aircraft components).  Even the percentage of iron does not necessarily dictate magnetism.  Diamagnetic steels can become magnetic if they are cold-worked enough (like a piece of 300-series stainless steel crushed repeatedly into a shape).  Magnetism can also be induced by prolonged proximity to sufficiently powerful magnet.

Ifs actually kinda both silver and bronze. It is steel so Primarily silver but the hammering process and natural oxidation leaves some ‘bronze appearances. 
We love the piece.
