RXL SL MTB Stem 31.8 Carbon Fiber Handlebar Stem 6 Degree -60/70/80/90/100/110/120mm

While this is a nice looking stem, sadly it is not carbon fiber as described. I pulled it out of the box, thought “this isn’t carbon”, compared it to my carbon handlebars, seat post and bike, put it back in the box and printed a return shipping label. It would be a keeper if I didn’t already have an aluminum alloy stem that I am trying to replace with a full carbon one. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before I purchased. not sure how it performs since I never put it on my bike but I will give 3 stars because it looks nice, probably does the job but is misleading in saying it is carbon. If anything, it should be described as a carbon/alloy mix, if that’s what it is but felt like and sounded like full aluminum alloy to me.

This is a China knock-off part- the finish isn't great, the threads aren't chased clean and the hardware is suspect (marked at 10.9, but I doubt it). It is not carbon- it is aluminum with a "carbon look" finish on the center section. On the plus side, it looks OK from a distance and is fairly light- the 100mm version I received weighed in at 141 grams.

(FIRST) THE SELLER LIST THESE STEMS AS ALUMINUM & CARBON FIBERWHEN INFACT THEY ARE ALL ALUMINUM WITH A SIMULATED CARBON DECALI KNEW THE PRICE WAS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!!! WHEN I PURCHASED-2 (MY MISTAKE)(SECOND) THEY ARE NOT DIMENSIONALLY CORRECT !!!I HAD TO PUT A LARGE SCREW DRIVER IN-BETWEEN THE STEER TUBE CLAMP & TRY TO PRY IT APPART& IT STILL HAD ISSUES RATHER THAN USE IT. I SIMPLY THREW IT IN THE RECYCLE GARBAGEFORE WARNED IS FOR ARMED

Perfect fit. I had a 130mm all carbon stem and needed to shorten the stem so I got this 70mm aluminum/carbon. It actually weighed less than the 130mm all carbon. It's smaller so less material. 119gm vs 136gm.

What a joke. Literally after hundreds of words, dozens of pictures, I found somewhere where it states aluminum carbon. What is that??? Either it's aluminum or carbon. There is a small slight inlay of carbon. But NOT 99% NOT carbon. Very deceptive.

I bought this for my bike on my smart trainer and dont care much about the weight. This is not carbon composite, but a decal overwrap. it dones look nice, good finish. The bottom surface that fits up against the spacers on the stem is not quite perpendicular to the axis of the stem, but for the price this does what I need.

This stem is good. It is sturdy and well made. The only thing is it's not carbon. It's aluminum.

Great deal on this stem for my road bike. It’s sturdy and grips my oversized handle bars as I like it. Great quality and the shipping was quick.
