Death in Grimsby: 50 Years Following Brighton & Hove Albion Review: I had been really looking forward to reading this book over the summer. Sadly I was unable to put it down and have already finished it. What am I going to do now?!! A fantastic read for any football fan, but particularly Brighton fans for whom memory after memory will come flooding back page after page. It's also got a culinary angle to it, with a "Who Ate All The Pies" page after each game, reviewing the much varied cuisine of football grounds around the UK! Review: Fascinating read. I have followed Brighton since around 1977/8. I was a young lad at Claytons Middle school in Bourne End. The one day I thought who am I going to follow? Most of my friends would follow the big clubs, my uncle lived in Brighton so that would be the team I would follow. Though my following would be via tv, newspapers teletext anyway I could find info out. I was working in retail, so time and economics did not allow for a full time following, like our Author. Though I did enjoy one visit to the Manor ground, sadly leading 1-0 then losing 2-1, so I lived to tell the tailšHe has given me a flavour of what I have been following for many years. I take my hat of to his dedication, others, like Alan Willard who went through the sad times of the demise of the Goldstone Ground, the near crushing of a club.I was not in Hereford on that day but remember the hassle from the Hereford supporters in Worcester. I travel all round the country for work so when Nick is talking about a particular ground I can picture where he is talking aboutā¦ā¦.. except Grimsby I donāt go there. Thanks for a brilliant book

As a lifelong Brighton Supporter I thoroughly enjoyed this book - the memories came flooding back. My other half is a non Brighton supporter and he thought it was brilliant also and very well written. I would recommend it to anyone who has any interest in football - its not just for Seagulls fans :)

I read this book following a recommendation and being a fellow Brighton fan, I worked my way through the book with nostalgia and also some ā I remember that tooā moments. Nic has a very engaging style that brings his books to life and his attention to detail is so rewarding. I would thoroughly recommend this book, if you are a fan of any football team, as I am so sure you will have empathy with all of us fellow downtrodden football Fans who dragged themselves around the lower reaches of the football pyramid enduring Misery and happiness to the end!

I have so much in common with Nic although I started being a Albion Fan/supporter a few years before Nic, I lived in Chi (Chichester) since I was born in1951, But my Aunties, Uncle's and Cousin's lived in Mouslecomb just north of brighton off the Lewis road. Never thought in my early days that I would be watching the Albion play Premier league football in a state of the art stadium a couple of miles north of us at Falmer, where my cousin's and I would play footy in the road. As a Albion Fan this is a great read.. Thanks for bringing back some good and bad times supporting my Team, Brighton and Hove Albion til I Did (and in the afterlife) cheers Nic
