Monster Bowling

I bought this as a gift for a 1 year olds birthday. Melissa & Doug products are always the best quality and has a great way of adding fun and learning in a toy. The little monster pins are cute and have so much color and texture for her to feel. They are a little hard to set up at her age but that is ok because she is more interested in touching the pins. I am sure when she is a little older it will be a fun game for her to play! Setting the pins up will not only be fun but build those fine motor skills. What more can you ask for in a toy? My baby is only 7 months old, so, he doesn't quite play bowling with this yet (although I do!!) but he loves the monsters. I opened it the other day with him on the floor with me. I arranged them like pins and threw the ball to hit them hard so they would fall at once. My baby loved it and crawled to them as fast as he could. He looked at all of them, then grabbed one with an orange body and blue furry stripes. It became his favorite! The horns/ears are really fun for young babies, because they pinch them, bite them, hold the monster by them, twist them.... the colors and textures are really attractive for babies too. We played with them for a good while. My baby was sitting on the carpet and I arranged them in front of them in a circle as if they were looking at him, and he went looking at them one by one, like to recognize them and pick one up. Then he just had fun knocking them over with his hand as he crawled to them. The ball is also fun for him to grab and bang on things.... Now they are all in his toy bucket, and he keeps pulling the orange one out :) I recommend buying it even for younger babies. It can be used for a while in any way, then put away, then retaken a few months later to give them a new use for the new skills, and eventually, we will play bowling too!

The Melissa & Doug monsters are adorable. Each monster has a unique look providing a great mix of colors, textures, and faces. The variety gives us a lot to talk about. Our little one has been playing with these monsters since he was seventeen months old. At first it was all about hugging them and putting them into the included bag to carry them. He also played hide and seek with them by placing them under a blanket. Now, at twenty months, he unzips the bag himself to remove the monsters to play with. He uses them in pretend play as the different monsters act out various roles. He also uses them to bowl as we set them up as pins and he rolls the ball to knock them over. In sum, a great toy whose purpose evolves as the child grows.

This toy is very cute, those little soft monster pint stand alone just fine (i think the craftsmanship are pretty well made). Though i wish these pints were a little bigger, when i make the purchase i really thought those pint will measure up to 8.75 inch, however, after i measure them myself, their size only come up to 6.5 inch maximum =-1 star. Even though they are a bit small, but they are still fun to play with, my 3 yr old nephew loves to play with these monster. He even went out shopping with 1 or 2 pints in his backpack, i think my money are well spend on this toy, and i highly recommend them to all young kid's parents. I agree that the ball that comes with the set don't work really well like one of the reviewer had mentioned (we end up picking up a ball just a little bigger from walmart for less then $2, and it works just fine).

These are a hoot! We gave them to our grandson for a birthday gift, and he- and all the other kids around, with a range of ages- just loved them! Not only are they adorable, but the fur is so soft one just wants to snuggle them. I saw them used for all sorts of creative play (but little bowling!). They are all different, which I think adds to the creative play possible with them. They are very sturdy, and come in a wonderful heavy-duty zippered plastic case to keep them contained when they are not in play.

These are the cutest little plush toys. The ball is like a wacky ball so it doesn't go in a straight line to hit the pins down. Could be a little frustrating for a toddler who thinks they will knock them down all the time. The pins are about knee high to a toddler but they are very easy to handle and play with. The pins have a little weight on the bottom to keep them up straight, the ball is light weight so the child can't be far away from the pins to knock them down. They are very bright colorful furry pins with funny faces on all of them. Comes with a plastic bag to keep them all together and neat. I would buy again.

The kids loved this, something a bit different and I love the detail with each monster. Lots of fun!

Simplemente hermosos y coloridos, muy suaves al tacto. Por sus colores resulta muy atractivo para los más pequeños. Tienen buena calidad, perfectos para regalos.

die einzelnen Monster sind liebevoll verarbeitet und teilweise richtig kuschelig. Schade nur, dass der Ball nicht rund ist und somit nicht richtig gezielt werden kann. Mein Neffe (4 Jahre) hat daher leider gar keinen Spaß an diesem Spiel und es verstaubt mittlerweile in Ecke. Zu schade - ich finde das Monster Bowling ja wirklich super - aber man weiß ja vorher immer nicht, wie gut welches Spielzeug bei den lieben Kleinen ankommt :-)
