Absolutely beautiful!
I absolutely loved this film. It was magical in every way. For the odd balls out there, it was so incredibly lovely.

That was two hours of my life I’ll never get back…
(Spoilers, but who cares—you shouldn’t watch it). That was two hours of my life I’ll never get back… I arranged to watch this with some girlfriends who I rarely get to see during Covid the weekend it was released. We were masked up and freezing outside in our sleeping bags watching it in the garage. This was supposed to be a fun and special evening but unfortunately this movie is a train wreck. It has very little plot, disappointing accents, makes no sense, moves slowly, and is beyond weird. I am a pretty easy critic and was expecting to find this to be predictable yet sweet and love it anyway. We were excited for a romance, some thing to make the dark December days fun. It failed. I can’t for the life of me imagine why Emily Blunt agreed to star in this disaster – – I normally love her – – but this will not go down as the highlight of her career. If you were thinking of watching it despite this review, just don’t. It culminated with the leading man confessing that he believes he is a honeybee – – seriously WTF? And although the boy gets the girl in the end it is anything but predictable and not in a good way. We would’ve been better off just drinking wine and leaving the movie out of it.

A sweet, romantic movie.
This is such a sweet, tender movie with an incredible cast. Yes, yes there's all of the chatter about bad Irish accents but honestly, just watch it and enjoy yourself. You won't regret it.

Loved it
Quirky and delightful old fashioned romance set in the beautiful green rolling hills of Ireland. If you like deep and subtle humor and nuance, you will love this movie. This is much more than a shallow walk through nostalgia. It delves into the place we all find ourselves as we pass through times in our life, and we question our own sanity.

Longing As Madness
This is a film adaptation by Pulitzer Prize-winning, Tony Award-winning playwright John Patrick Shanley of his 2014 play OUTSIDE MULLINGAR. If you aren't sure you know who Shanley is, he wrote the film MOONSTRUCK, and the play DOUBT--and directed the film of DOUBT which starred Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman. No surprise that these incredible actors--Blunt, Dornan, Hamm, and Christopher Walken--signed up for this gentle, Irish folk fable about love. It's just a tiny glimpse into the delicate longing a woman has felt since her childhood--almost to the point of madness--for a peculiar farmer (also mad?) who lives next door; and his strangeness (as one viewer spoiled) is the gossamer stuff of an Irish faerie-tale. The whole film looks and feels like pages torn purposefully from an Irish storybook--or from the lyrics of a tune sung at the pub on a night of drink and desire. If you seek a hilarious rom-com with big reveals to shriek about, forget this. The "tiny-ness" that Anthony feels and fears inside his magical brain is part of the invisible realm of creatures that inhabit Ireland's landscape and mood. That said, this is definitely a film of a play--it has minimal sets, minimal movement, it's dependent on small scenes and gestures. If you like theater, you'll get this. Dornan has always been a great actor, and Christopher Walken may give one of the best, most heart-wrenching performances of his career. I had to stop the film to sob. Just take a quiet night to see brilliant actors at work in lyrical Ireland.

Worst movie ever!
I was so looking forward to this! But it was one of the worst, most boring, nonsensical movies I have ever seen. It reduced the Irish people to fantasy, not real at all. They sing a lot; cry a lot; die often. Absurd. And Emily Blunt waiting for that idiot?! Not quite. If they'd cast a couple of misfits, maybe it would have worked -- except for the bee part. What a waste of time and money!

Not good!
Definitely not a good film! Storyline and dialogue was rubbish. The actors seem to try their best, not the best Irish accents ever from the non-Irish actors, I could overlook it if the film was actually any good, but there was little they could do to redeem this film. Emily Blunt's character lusting after the farmer next door who she grew up with, Jamie Dornan's character (the farmer next door) debating whether to propose so he can inherit his dad's farm, pretty obvious throughout the film something was holding him back. The big reveal - SPOILER ALERT - he thinks he's a bee! Yeah, you read it right, a bloody bee, as in a bumblebee!! Seriously you must be kidding!!The one plus point of the film was the beautiful scenery

Quite simply: Possibly the most beautiful film I've ever seen. Very emotional film, by the end of which I was an emotional wreck."Wild Mountain Thyme" I will definitely watch again, and again and ...

Charming !
This is truly a gentle ,charming film, slow paced, but that adds to the quality. Stay with the story line ,it takes a while to see where it's going ,interesting characters ,wellacted. Romantic in a way that belongs more to the past rather than today and that is what makes the film so charming. Funny too in a sort of crazy way. Lovely, and well worth watching more than once.
