I prefer the lever pump. It keeps my coffee hot all day, and it's still warm in the morning. This one will hold almost 2 pots of coffee and very easy to transport from place to place.

I've used this airpot daily for 4 years and it still works great. I brew 1.75 liters of coffee each morning directly into this airpot using a #6 plastic manual drip cone and Melitta filter. What I really like is that with one single stroke of the lever I can fill a Grande sized cup full of frothy coffee. I love the froth! The pump mechanism feels very solid even after 4 years of daily use. I also like that the tube that extends into the coffee is metal and not plastic. Many other airpots have plastic tubes, who wants a plastic tube marinating in your coffee for hours. Cleanup is easy as the product comes apart quickly. The hinge on the airpot lid is still very solid. Note the opening at the top of the airport is not-huge so its great for holding a filter cone but requires a steady hand to pour coffee from another container into this airport. Not a problem just FYI. I am buying another of this airpot today for my second home in the mountains. Wish it was on Prime but oh well, its worth the extra money to get a quality product.

It keeps the water warm for a long time, but it has one problem: the tube inside is made of black plastic, which is not hygienic at all. It should have been made of steel, because plastics release a lot of plastic particles in hot water, which are harmful to health. I hope the tube inside changes and becomes steel, then it will be great.

In researching airpots, I checked the questions with the listings. The first one listed with this model was "What material is the tube made of? It looks like plastic." US Foods and Culinary Equipment said "It is stainless steel and is glass lined." This was the second answer; the first answer said that a purchase from a couple of years ago was metal but looked plastic now. I was quite unhappy to discover the tube was indeed plastic, but needed to use one of the two airpots I purchased the very next day. Unfortunately, the airpot was defective and would often continue releasing coffee long after a partial pump of the lever--sometimes as much as a cup and a half! Other times it would merely drip a bit. I returned both without ever trying the second one. I have a coffee business and must have reliable equipment. I've used airpots for several years and know that it was not user error that caused the problem. I reordered the Curtis airpots and couldn't be happier--they are top quality, reliable, and have metal tubes too!
