Fresh tasting fennel in a ziplock bag.
This bag of organic fennel seeds is going to last me a long time. I have a favorite pizza sauce recipe that calls for fennel and when I needed to buy more I had a hard time finding it in the grocery store. The larger bottles around an ounce were close to ten dollars. I found this bag of fennel to be fresh with a best buy date of April 2017 in a easy to reseal plastic bag. I transferred a small amount to an old spice container for immediate use and froze the rest of it to maintain freshness. I chewed on a few seeds and they tasted fresh and full flavored. I purchased this bag when it was priced at under five dollars which I thought was an excellent bargain. Prices fluctuate on Ammy and I was watching this on my shopping list for a price drop before I made my purchase.

Feels good right away - laxative if too much!
My Indian friend drinks fennel tea all the time, but since I hate fennel seeds, I avoided it. Recently, I decided to bring a half dozen herbal teas into my life because I was drinking too much Oatly throughout the day in black tea and coffee, and technically, I’m not good with grains, and let’s remember, OATLY is made of oats, A GRAIN, and it made me sluggish and sleepy in spite of the caffeine… So frustrating.Anyway, just three days in and I love my new healthier, feels better herbal tea-drinking program. I’m drinking super healthy herbal teas that give you a well feeling..and fennel is at the top.You know that disgusting taste if you bite on a fennel seed? That is NOT what fennel steeped in hot water taste like. It’s a much smoother, easier slightly sweet flavor, so don’t run away from this idea if you hate fennel seeds, it really tastes milder n different. And if you’re sensitive, similar to drinking mint tea, right away when it hits your system, you kind of feel lighter, more comfortable.I have some mild IBS so this will definitely be in my life, and all of India can’t be wrong, they eat a few seeds after meals as a digestive.**However, the first day I tried it I drank a 2nd cup in the afternoo, since I loved how it made me feel after a heavy breakfast that morning. I mixed it with lavender, not sure if that had anything to do with it, but wow, in 20 minutes or so I began running to the bathroom. OMG, you drink too much of this, and it is a pure laxative, lol! I had no idea. I googled it and sure enough, fennel, relaxes, digestive, muscles, and too much can cause the runs. I had also used a pistol and mortar to ground those seeds a little bit and maybe that released too much? So I suggest NOT grinding them at all. Keep your fennel seeds whole. However, if you experience constipation, maybe do try this..? And what a wonderful, natural and even healthy way to take a laxative!

Way better than any I've gotten in the supermarket
Bulk spices are the way to go. I would advise to only take a few out at a time - refill the jar you got from the supermarket. Keep the rest of these in the freezer. Mine came nice and green and smell great. Keeping them in the freezer helps them stay this way.
