I've purchased many Noodler's inks and love just about every one of them. I purchased this due to people loving the color and who doesn't like an ink that shades so well? It adds that little flair a fountain pen can give you unlike most any other writing tool. So, I am impressed with color, but what got me about this ink was the rest of it... The properties of this ink and how it behaves are outstanding. I put it in an extra junky pilot varsity as that was the only pen not filled at the time. This ink starts up every single time, even after sitting a few days. This ink flows perfectly, every single time. No globs or variations in line or anything. This ink doesn't feather at all - even on the junk paper we purchase that has probably been recycled 40 times and made from rice pulp. It dries relatively fast. It doesn't smear at all when dry. Did I mention how it glides from the pen and across the paper? It does... This ink also resists water well and is 'bullet proof' per Noodler's designation to a degree. It'll be permanent enough and last long enough for most uses - if you need more, obviously look elsewhere. Given how well this ink writes though and how beautiful the color is - the partial resistance is icing on the cake. Also, this ink comes in a 3ounce bottle, enough ink for a lifetime.

Beautiful, beautiful ink - it ranges from crimson through burgundy to straight up purple depending on the pen and saturation level. Mind your first fill - I set it in a laundry basin to keep it contained if I spilled it, and there was enough in the bottle initially for the slight angle to make it spill. It's full to the brim, you get every penny's worth crammed into the bottle.
