The Art and Soul of Blade Runner 2049 - Visual Art Book Deluxe Edition

Pretty disappointed in the Deluxe version as it’s really only a dust cover, sleeve and the ‘limited’ lithograph isn’t particularly special (no numbering); once you get over that bit of the rip off the book itself is fantastic and full of insight

First, let me say that I never review books, music, video games, etc. because people are entitled to their opinion on such item since we all have different tastes. Items like this affect each of us differently and I feel it's hard to truly say a song was "bad", or an album "sucked", or a movie was "boring" or "had bad acting". But this is the first time I've written a review because I agreed with other people so much. The lithograph has got to be the biggest rip-off I feel I've ever paid for on a collectable item. Hard core fans might be forgiving (hardcore on a scale of 1 to 10, someone who's a 50!) of this gouging. There is NO WAY this litho should have added $50 to the price! There is absolutely NOTHING special about it. No limited number ID, no high quality paper, no signatures, no unique artful detail that you can't find anywhere else, - NOTHING! Neca should be sued into giving us our money back!! You might as well just find a photo on the internet and print it out at home using good paper. Add a little glow paint and it's basically the same thing. Seriously, save yourself some money and buy the standard edition. I still gave 4 stars because I didn't want to detract too much from the beautiful book. The book is freakin' awesome. For the extra money we paid, we should have gotten other items with the book. This was a total sham to the consumer and a complete clusterF*** on Neca!

This book is stunning and full of beautiful full-page photographs of behind the scenes shots and movie stills. The typography beautifully designed and the writing dives deep into the creation of this amazing movie with all of the pressures of a cult-movie sequel. The book itself is quite thick and heavy and the black fabric slip-case is a really nice touch with metallics. I really enjoy the lithograph because it is a glow-in-the-dark print. Sure, the price is a little steep but I’ve spent more on collector’s editions and gotten much less. I’m also Canadian and it’s not available here yet so paying for the exchange and the duty was not a huge deal for something I truly love. This is a fabulous piece and a great addition to Syd Mead’s Futurism book.

I absolutely love the contents of this book. If you love Blade Runner 2049, then this will be a real treat for you. My brand-new copy had some quality control issue (there were some fingerprints and damaged pages), but if you're fortunate enough to get a good one, it's a great read. Also as an FYI; the contents of this book are the same as the standard edition.
