Q: What is the ignition gel made of?? Also can you buy that locally or do you have to always order it?? Does it produce a taste on the food??

We do not sell the ignition gel in US market due to transportation restrictions. We suggest SmarterStarter Fluid a green, vegetable-alcohol based charcoal fluid as an alternate to the Homping brand gel not available in the US. SmarterStarter is available at local lumber store and online. Additionally, parafin gel starter will also work.Or you can use regular match light charcoal instead of using starter with wooden charcoal.

Q: Can you use this indoors?

We do not recommend to use it indoors due to carbon monoxide from charcoal.

Q: is this made in the USA ?

This product is designed and made in Korea. The Doshida Homping grill is also manufactured in Korea.

Q: Can you use lava rocks instead of charcoal?

I agree that lighting the lava rocks would be the trickiest part, lol.
