Great start if your child has never coded with un-intimidating language to pique their curiosity.
I bought this for my nephew who's entering his first year of high school and will probably lead to some type of engineering degree later in college. I like that's there's a lot of projects to keep him interested before we end up buying him more parts as imagination gets him into larger and more complicated projects. It's a great start and there's online help if he ever has any questions. While it may seem like trivial tasks, learning to problem solve will only help him as he grows older regardless of what type of career path he chooses. I'm excited to see what he can come up with!

Nice but need a few components
Got this yesterday for my son to start learning to code. Most cards state to connect the rainbow wire connection tor the LEDs. That is not included. Luckily I have one for my breadboard. Be nice to have all the components match the coding cards.

Basic programming for kids
My eight year old grandson got engrossed in this immediately. Because he has had some programming experience already, he was able to work independently. While he was working, he was obviously enjoying himself because every once in a while, he was laugh about what he was doing. He changed the sound effect from a siren to a song, and that made him laugh. This "toy" is worth the money.

Great gift for my techie grandson
I am buying this for my grandson for Christmas. I did extensive research and wanted to get him started “the right way” if I can. I believe this kit will offer the most “bang for the buck” because it’s actual coding language, not the visual/block languages that are gaining popularity. At the same time, the coding projects seem like they are something that will hold his attention. You can actually see all of the lessons/projects at the company website if you want to research exactly what you’re buying. I like buying quality things for my grandkids, not throw away toys. I think he will love this present!

Better than I expected
When we first got it I thought it didn’t look like there was all that much in the box until I realized most of the instructions are on the software. Since it’s a coding kit instead of a “electronic circuit” kit, much of what the kids are doing is changing the computer programs. For example, with the speaker the kids learn to make it beep, then make it sound like a siren, then make a piano, then play a song, so it’s many projects with similar electronics. I thought that was good since it is supposed to focus on coding skills, not circuit building. Highly recommend!
