Nice and sharp
I used this to prune a tall apple tree and found it very effective. The sharp blades made it a breeze to cut through branches upto nearly 4cm in diameter. The cord is easy to pull, although it does occasionally get entangled in the branches. Due to it's length it does take a little bit of strength to use, although it is much lighter than it would be if it had a metal pole.Possible improvements to expand it's functionality would be for the pruning head to be able to tilt to different angles, as the orientation makes it difficult to prune high branches that are completely vertical. Another improvement would be for the pruning saw to have an optional short handle, as it is a really good saw and it is a shame not to be able to use it easily for close up work.Overall I am pleased with my purchase from this reputable brand.

Light and easily handled
Good bit of kit. The telescopic design extends to over 3m and is light enough to handle in the branches. The corded cutting action works well on young shooting branches up to about 3cm in diameter. It can get caught up in the tree but it’s a fun game to disentangle

Great tool
The tool is fantastic. It has allowed me to cut branches with both the saw and the clipper and works a treat. It is quite hard to use the saw as it's so high up and need balance and some strength, but once getting the hang of it and with plenty of arm rest it's amazing.Previously I had an issue explained below. I contacted support and they sent me a new tool and it's amazing. (1st one came damaged, the one that was reissued had no issues)The bottom of the stick came damaged. It's very sharp and dangerous to use. Must of either been sent like this from the manufacturer or got damaged in the transit as the stick was was not covered at all. Shame it is like this as seems like a good tool

Perfect for the job !!!
I've never used one of these before so didn't know what to expect. But straight out of the packaging it's ready to use and it's very self explanatory. Easy to extend pole which helped me reach high branches. The cutting ability of the pruner itself cuts like butter, I was really impressed. As long as you stay within the 30mm branch thickness limit you'll be fine although pruning thicker branches with the pole extended the pole does tend to bend a bit which you may need to keep an eye on but none the less it still worked. And as for the saw blade it's very easy to attach and I was cutting branches 4.5" thick with ease even with the pole extended by utilising the whole of the saw blade. I was really pleased with my purchase of Spear and Jackson telescopic pruner and I think it helped there was a demonstration video in the description. A really great product that did exactly what it was meant to do.

Works well just be aware of the sharp saw and rope entanglement
It was difficult to use the saw to Cut at height and the cap kept coming off the pole at the bottom. Otherwise it achieved the aim of pruning the tree. The rope for the pulley to close the cutting blade kept getting tangled in the branches. Can’t fault the quality value for money

Brilliant and much cheaper than I first thought so
This spear and Jackson tree pruners is specta ckler. I opened them up and I placed the bits altogether. It made a fine larger than life pruner. I was able to prune part of my tree, but not the last bit, but I never had a problem in undoing the two pieces like I have done in the past. The blade is so staggeringly sharp one must be very careful with it, and if your not going to use it for awhile then remove the blade and lay it somewhere where it is safe to do so. So childre! Can not get it off the shelf.
