Have purchased this model, 3x now. Nice humidity and temp combo, NOT to be used outdoors. WiFi and/or blue-tooth, stable and usable. Need to replace batteries at least 1x a year. Works with your phone. One in garage, one in Barn and one in Crawlspace.

We bought 5 ($75 each) of these in December, 2018 to monitor our summer house during the winter, and make sure we did not loose heat from our old boiler. After some work, I got all 5 to work. Left town, and headed for warmer weather. At first they all worked, and I was glad to see the data. Over the course of 3 months, they all disconnected one by one. By the time the last one failed, it was March, 2019 and we were past the high risk winter temperatures. When we returned to the summer house, I saw that the displays were still working but no connection. I simply put them all in a drawer. In late October, 2019 it was time to get the house ready for winter again, and I decided to check them out before finding another brand. All the displays were dead. I tested each of the original batteries, and found readings from 0.01v all the way to 1.00v. Like a bunch of random numbers. Good batteries do not run down like that. These were clearly really cheap batteries. I replaced all 15 batteries with new Kirkland AAA batteries that I already owned. Those all started at about 1.59v. All 5 units instantly jumped back to life, automatically reconnected, and started reporting data again. They were all as good as new, and and fully wifi connected. No need to re-program. Moral of the story is to throw away the included batteries as step one. Put in 3 high quality batteries. I suspect the batteries are the source of many many problems people are reporting. Not sure how much time to expect, but 5 or 6 months is all that I really need to have. I will buy one or two more, depending on whether or not wifi can reach the garage. That allows me the ability to see temps in every cold corner of this large house with radiant water heat in wooden floors. With more than a mile of copper / water pipes in wooden floors, I can not allow the house to ever ever freeze. These work great, with great reports. They just need a good power source.

My HVAC (Carrier) has a thermostat that communicates with furnace, A/C (or heat pump), zones, manages humidity and variable speed functions. Carrier has made wifi controls, but they have been expensive and dismal failures. To use a Nest or similar would dumb down the whole HVAC system. The only function I needed was the ability to know if the furnace was maintaining temperature when I traveled (in the winter). The Goove Wifi does it, very well. I am so impressed by how reliable and how accurate temp and humidity readings are. You need Bluetooth for initial setup, but after that the Govee thermostat sends data over wifi to the Govee cloud (free). I was basking in the warmth of Texas this winter knowing that my home was not going to have frozen pipes. I did take the extra steps with other products to 1) detect leaks 2) turn off whole house water 3) turn off hot water heater 4) open/drain hot/cold water at the lowest point . Those address other problems, but the most probable scenario is heat out, and the Govee sensor is the key piece there. I've had temperature monitoring solutions for the past 35 years, but initial products required a land line and early wifi units were expensive and clunky. Govee is pragmatic and inexpensive. Far more precision than I need, but if you have a greenhouse you could sleep at night knowing this product has you covered.

I bought this to monitor the temperature in my RV remotely. I'm very impressed with the quality of the app, especially after trying a competitor product first. Excellent user experience that allows me to set temperature alerts and keep an eye on battery levels, wifi signal, etc. The app displays ads but since there's no service fee I think that's reasonable. The thermometer itself could be made of better quality plastic but I'm nit picking. It's perfectly fine. I'm giving it 4 stars because: 1. I wish it delivered alerts via email and/or SMS as well, not only in the mobile app; 2. it would be nice if it had a backlight; 3. works only with 2.4 GHz wifi, which is not a problem in itself, but apparently confuses a lot of users who are not technical enough to configure the wifi connection properly.
