Edit: the picture of the product has changed from when I first bought it, so it's safe to assume that the pencils received are probably no more. Bummer :( I was afraid of what kind of pencils I'd be getting, since the first and second pictures don't show the same pencil LOL. I'm really pleased to say that I got the pencils the first picture showed, as this was what I was hoping to get. I've been using this model of pencils to draw for four years, so I got pretty sad when I lost one of my two pencils, and the other one started getting worn out. The thing I love the most about this brand is that they sell refillable erasers for this pencil. I hate not being able to use the eraser for my mechanical pencils because I won't be able to take the eraser out for more lead, or it gets stuck because I erased too much. I also press really hard when I write, and the lead doesn't get pushed back into the pencil. This is probably why I love this pencil so much, I hate not being able to display different levels of sensitivity when I'm writing or drawing. It's just an overall great pencil. The hook part of the pencil is also metal so it won't break off, unlike some other pencils. Throughout the four years I've had my pencil, the metal tip that the lead comes out of also hasn't ever gone wobbly on me. It's overall just a great pencil. Companies are always changing up pencil styles throughout the years, so I'm so, so, so happy that I was able to find the pencil that I was looking for! 12 pencils will probably last me a long time.

These are my teenage boys favorite pencils. Love the twist up erasers. These never break. Only reason you need to buy more is that they get lost or someone borrows it and keeps it. Great pencil.

My favorite lead pencil

I like the quality of these mechanical pencils - the rubber grip enhances smooth writing and they have quite a bit of eraser - I believe they would fit comfortably with a large or small hand- great value for the money.

My kids love these for school!

My kids are extremely picky about their mechanical pencils and have probably tried them all. This one is by far their favorite, and this price is the best around. The pencils hold up well, even when tossed into an overloaded bookbag. The erasers don't break or disappear after a few erases...very durable. The lead is very sturdy as well and writes smoothly. I won't buy another brand or style of mechanical pencil besides these from Pentel. Excellent value! Don't buy something cheap that will break right away.
