Christopher Clare’s done a great write up on Roger FedererBest Federer book out there. You’ll not find one better unless Roger writes his own story.

What can I say? It’s about THE G.O.A.T!!!
Fascinating & more in depth than what (I) or one would[‘ve] expected. It reveals different viewpoints as to how & what Roger experienced & intuitively endured. I LOVE it!! (And I it doesn’t hurt that the jacket cover is in my FAVOURITE colour!!) DEF worth the price, & it looks good on my shelf when it’s not being read. Very well written & touching at some parts, if you even don’t *like* (sports) specifically tennis at all, this is truly an insightful book that everyone should have. Great stuff! Kudos to Mr. Clarey he deserves an A+++!!! A near MASTERPIECE! Thanks for a great read! ALOHA! 🤙🏼 Michael…..🤓 🎾

How death propelled Federer to greatness
Christopher Clarey has been the lucky one to be able to gather material for his Federer book for over 20 years. Undeniably this has its advantages. The book contains everything worth to know about this tennis phenomenon. I have also followed Federer as long as Clarey but from the tv screen, mostly, but also seen him play live 4-5 times. For me there was nothing really new in the book, but Clarey brings the role of Peter Carter, boyhood coach of Federer, in more details than ever before? Or more fittingly the role of accidental death of Carter who had seen and believed that this boy will become the best player in the world. Years Federer did not meet the expectations put on him. Only after Carter's death Federer realised that he owes Carter that he must become a man capable to fulfil his potential. And he did that.Credit for Clarey also for describing the backgrounds of Nadal and Djokovic. Somehow he also succeeds in being a kind of fan of Federer and still being critical at times or at least letting some critical voices have some space in the book.Text is fluent but not that fluent that you write more that 400 pages without subtitles. Book contains sixteen chapters and Epilogue but you never know what is the subject in the next chapter. Clarey surfs between some 25 years time span without chronology which is ok but I would like to know where we are heading next. To me there are also too many people testifying too little details from Federer's youth. In trying to turn every stone Clarey has turned a few too many.Clarey describes Federer's exceptional personality from numerous angles. The man is a rarity in many ways and everyone dealt with him credit his capabilities in meeting people like he would have all the time with you though there is a line of thousand waiting for him. Irony of Federer's career is that his fame has not been damaged by the fact that he has lost two of his biggest matches: Wimbledon 2008 and 2019.

Hard to capture the span of the genius, a useful addition to legend
I have followed Federer ever since he put my previous hero Pete Sampras to the sword in scintillating match at Wimbledon 20 years ago. I have watched in awe as he dominated his contemporaries, held my breath as he battled Rafael Nadal up and down the globe and eventually enjoyed the last flickers of his career. Memories came flooding back of Federer's legendary career and if for nothing else that is why his book is such a winner. There were useful insights too into what makes the man, his thinking, his ambitions and his world view. A must read for all Federer fans, all lovers of the game and students of the sports history.

Such a wonderful recap of Roger Federer’s life. The book describes in great detail his amazing tennis career, including his many rivalries, his coaches, his family and the many ways he’s been such a great ambassador of the game. It’s a great tribute to a man who will always remain the favorite tennis player to most of the world.
