My absolute favourite collection of Bukowski's poems
My absolute favourite collection of Bukowski's poems. His writing is intense and real. His reflections just hit hte right notes.Realistic yet literally expressive - a thoroughly enthralling read by the world's best anti-poet of XX century!

thoughtful and a great insight into the man's mind
Even if you are not familiar with Charles Bukowski, you might owe it to yourself to get this book. It's witty, erudite, thoughtful and a great insight into the man's mind. It's a good book to pick up every now and again and be witness to snapshots of his extraordinary life. Don't forget to actually read his books though. To clarify, this book is poetry. The best existentialist poetry.

I wanted to love this
Oh what a self-pitying title. I ripped the cover off so it could sit in my bathroom without anybody getting the wrong idea. I love the man's first two novels 'Post Office' and 'Factotum'. The short stories are great and the underground newspaper columns funny and insightful. But this 'poetry'? Overall, bollocks.

A Bukowski must
Not a great lover of poetry but what is there not to like about Bukowski's writing?

Not for me
I bought this on a whim after it was referred to in another book I was reading. A mistake for my personal outlook on life as it is a very difficult and dark book.
