Systane Gel Nighttime Protection Lubricant Eye Gel 10 g (2 pack)

I have very dry eyes that get worse if I am online extensively. My doctor recommended a nighttime relief lubricant eye gel, and this one has worked the best. There are others that are more "greasy" which also work, but this does the job. I had been waking up with my eyes feeling like I had grains of sand in them. Up till recently, I had been able to use an eye drop, shut my eye and take a quick nap, and that restored them. But then it got worse. Using the gel lubricant definitely shortened the time I needed for the "sandpaper feeling" to go away, albeit I still needed to close my eye for at least 10 minutes to give it time to do the job Now I use this every night to help my eyes while I am asleep, and I wake up feeling so much better. I also use a nighttime heat mask that mildly warms your eyes to soften and loosen the natural lubricant which is released thru our eyelids (warm washcloth also works, but it needs to be ideally for at least 5 minutes). In any case, this is the best of the bunch and anyone with dry eyes should consider this at night, especially if you are online a lot and noticing your eyes are hurting or dry in the AM!

Systane (Alcon) folks have been at this for many years and yet they continue to confuse their customers with a "nighttime" and a "night time" gel product that contain completely different ingredients. for those of us with eye allergies that contribute to the dry eye, i find that unacceptable. they at least use to use a pink package for the hypromellose that I require. now amazon vendors send out which ever one they have with no clue of the differences. The systane web site does not even contain both products! shame on them!

I have severe dry eyes as well as other eye issues so this nighttime gel really helps me!

I purchased this based on a recommendation from my eye doc because, after minor eye surgery, I developed dry eyes which he said was expected. I found using conventional artificial tears tedious and difficult to do during my day since I found no places to lay down so he said this may address my dry eyes all day. He was right. I've been using this for a bit now at night as directed and it's addressed my dry eye issue completely. There's a minor drawback that after use, it gives you blurry vision for quite a while. I use it at bedtime but am concerned that if for some emergency, I need to swing into action I'll be greatly handicapped. In sum, it does what it claims to do but in doing so, creates a worrisome situation.
