What size do I order for a men's size 9?

It states on the box for size Large:MEN'S 9-12WOMEN'S 10-13EU 42-46.5UK 8-11.5I'm usually size 8 1/2 shoe size but prefer their Large over their Medium (I've had both!) because I prefer a little looseness and feel they last longer comfortably. I love those socks and have bought them for gotta be over 10 years. Often wear them around the house without shoes or slippers including on a tile floor and they last and last.

Are these made in the USA or imported description says both

They are made in USA, Osaga Iowa. It also says it's made with US and imported yarns.

What is the fiber composition?

I know they are not made of cotton. I believe they are made of nylon, but not sure.

Good heat retention for elderly?

Liner socks are designed to wick away moisture and reduce friction between the shoe/boot and the outer sock. The best insulation heat retention will come from thermal socks, such as Heat Holders, also available on Amazon. Not a good choice if heat retention is your aim, great if you want liner socks.
