This is my evaluation of the Eyoyo magnifier, 4 to 32 magnification unit. This unit was purchased for my wife who has macular degeneration with approximately 40% of her vision left. The unit has been an absolute lifesaver for her. With this unit she can now shop the grocery store, read restaurant menus, plus magazines and books. It is a rechargeable unit that will provide approximately a full day of usage. The many features and functions included make it a unit highly adapted for folks with macular degeneration. She plugs it in each evening, recharges it and it is ready to go the next day. The unit performs exactly as advertised and has become an attachment everywhere she goes. We can strongly recommend this for people to expand their lives back to where they were prior to vision deterioration. Amazon provided the unit at the best price and absolutely on time. The video enhancer only works very close so its hard to just make the letters a little bigger, it goes very very large so its uncomfortable to read a simple sentence as you have to keep moving the device to the side and capturing the few words on the right place. Also, the view for far away looks terrible, the camera is like an iphone 4 level of quality. The worse part is that they dont allow returns so we coudlnt try it and see if it worked. It has the potential to be a good device for low vision poeple but now its closer to a scam than a helpful device. It migth be useful for some. Battery life is ok and can be recharged via the usb chord so thats good. This is bette than their cheaper offerings but still a long way to go.

The product works well and the support team is excellent. Before purchasing I had a few questions and the support team responded to multiple of my queries within 24 hours. One thing that is not mentioned in the product description is that the device uses a USB-C port for charging. At this time, the device manufacturer provides a USB-C to USB-A cable and a standard USB wall charger (USB-A) with the product. Over email, they mentioned they are thinking of switching completely to a USB C cable/charger in the future. But since the device has a USB-C port, one can easily use any USB-C cellphone charger to charge the device. The UI for settings and all button functionality takes a little time to get used to, other than this this product works really well for people with eye disabilities.

This electronic video magnifier is well made and loaded with features. Besides the usual color choices and magnification levels, it has a connection for USB, HDMI, AV Out and TF slot (similar to SD slot). I am very pleased with this product. I have been using video magnifiers for three decades due to very limited eyesight. All of the other video magnifiers I have had over the years were priced at $695 or more. This one, priced at $189 is a terrific deal. It is as good as any other expensive video magnifiers. Comes with a printed manual. The only thing I do not like about this unit is the inconvenient handle. The handle is stored in the bottom (back) and it takes two hands to release the handle for use. You have to press up on a small button on the bottom (back) and pull the handle off. Putting the handle back after use is also a nuisance, using the same process in reverse. The manual suggests you replace the handle after each use, but since it is a bit of a hassle, I simple don't bother. I do think the company (from Japan) should rework the way the handle can be more easily accessible. Otherwise, I do recommend this digital video magnifier.
