Q: There seems to be 2 different dimensions. What are the correct dimensions? Including thickness.

The one I purchased has not been installed yet, so hopefully these measurements are exact and make sense:Outside total width 3 9/16", Inside opening width 1 1/2", Inside flange width 2 1/2", Inside height/depth (where spout should meet the ring) without beveled/raised edge 3/8" (Beveled edge/rim adds additional 1/8" approx). The ring includes an insulated (loose) backing having a 1/2" existing pipe hole (easy to trim if needed).I purchased this ring to replace one with a reverse bevel which will not stay in place even with caulk and the spout tight against it. The Danco ring is nice, arrived scratch free, and the design looks to be the solution if we could just get around to the installation. Hope this helps!

it might vary a little bit depending on how much you tighten the spout, but in my case it takes up just a little less than 1/2 inch of space.

Q: Can this be used to hide a tilted spout that does not sit flush with the wall (1/4" gap at the top of the spout)?

Probably not, unless the pipe nipple can move so that when the spout is screwed in tighter against this flange the spout will “un tilt“. It’s more for if the spout doesn’t screw in close enough to the wall (my situation, filling the gap with silicone looked terrible) or if there’s a gaposis around the pipe nipple that needs to be covered.
