Beautiful, intense colors!
As a polymer clay artist, I go through a lot of supplies. These alcohol inks are great and the price is good as well. The colors are dense and a little goes a long way. I have other Pinata paints, and I'm totally satisfied with all of them. They're beautiful! As a Prime member, I buy a LOT of stuff from amazon. Living out in a rural area far from a city, amazon is my go-to source for many of my purchases. I must rely heavily on your product reviews to help me decide which item is best for me -- especially when I can't actually see, touch or hold the product.I take my personal product reviews seriously, and if something proves to be a piece of junk, I'll tell you - and if it's great or mediocre, I'll tell you that, too. My policy is to try to write the kind of reviews I want to read and to update my reviews if for some reason the product fails to perform as advertised during the period it's warrantied for. I do ask that if you found this review helpful in making your decision, that you please click on the "yes" button below.

Beautiful, Versatile, Vivid Alcohol Inks! 💜
I absolutely LOVE this set of alcohol inks! This is one of the best brands you can get, and it's very easy to use. The colors are bright, vivid and beautiful. The ink dries fairly quickly, and it's very concentrated, like nail polish. It's important to have proper ventilation. Because the inks stain, it's best to wear gloves and not use this stuff around kids unless they are properly protected and not inhaling the fumes. The smell is pretty strong and it can make you feel lightheaded or give you a headache faster than you think. These inks color glass really well! I glossed over the dried ink with mod podge to help seal the colors permanently. I used the pink ink in a pyramid-shaped resin mold and it worked great. You can dilute the inks in 90%+ isopropyl alcohol and blend them in little plastic bottles. I use yupo paper and create paintings with Sharpies for cool abstract effects. I'm so happy with with this purchase, and if you're creative like I am, you'll love it too!

Great for mug art!
I bought these because I was looking for alcohol inks to try some mug art with. These worked amazingly!! I love that they are so versatile depending on how diluted you make the paints. The colors are vibrant, and they held up well after baking. However, some notes that people should be aware of before doing mug art with them:- If you bake your mug at 400 degrees, the yellow will turn into a very faded brown-ish color. The green will turn dark blue. Try baking them at 350 for 30 minutes. I did not notice any color distortions at that temperature.- The gold does not dilute like the other colors. if you want to have a controlled, washed out sparkle, dilute it before you put it on the cup so that it dilutes evenly. Otherwise the metallic pigments tend to clump together.- The reds have a tendency to run more than other colors. I initially tried to put a dishwasher-safe sealer on the mugs before baking- it was a disaster. It was completely dry, yet it smudged everywhere. You NEED to bake them first even if you plan on sealing them.

What a great introduction to alcohol inks
What a great introduction to alcohol inks! The colors are vivid, and beautiful, and they are very easy to work with. This set contains a full palette of colors, plus metallic gold. (There is no brown, but that's easy to make out of purple and orange.) They can be used on any gloss finished anything. Paper, paint, wood, tile, glass... anything shiny. I have even used them on canvas. They work perfectly with other alcohol inks like Adirondack. I have not tried the Claro extender by Jacquard. I have been using the Adirondack Blending Solution and plain rubbing alcohol. They each work a little differently, so i keep both close to hand. I highly recommend this kit if you are thinking of giving alcohol inks a try for the first time. I did, and I am HOOKED! :-)

Better Price than Leading Brand
I took a chance on buying this brand I’d never heard of. Alcohol inks always interested me and have always wanted to use them more. However only one brand (ranger/Tim holtz) was what I was finding in stores. Jacquard Piñata alcohol inks are a much better deal. The color seemed more concentrated. I could add more isopropyl alcohol (use 70% or higher) and make them really last. Mixing and making new colors was fun too. I didn’t have much luck with the white. It was kinda goopy and not consistent. I am also not a fan of the clam shell packaging. I liked these so much I bought bigger bottles.

I still use mine
I'm an alcohol ink artist, and these were among the first colors I ever got. I generally use Ranger inks for normal use, but I grab these when I need bold, simple, gorgeous jewel tones. They're thicker than Ranger, so they behave differently, but perform perfectly well once you understand that and adjust for it. They play nice with iso, Everclear, and ranger blending solution except the white which only plays well with blending solution. These are a great and cost-effective thing to have in your beginner's toolkit, and tbey're still useful when you've got more experience.
