24 Pin to 8-Pin Power Supply ATX PSU Adapter Cable for DELL Motherboards

This (24 Pin to 8-Pin Power Supply Adapter) allowed me to salvage a damaged Dell OptiPlex SFF computer. The case was brought to me crushed, the only thing that looked good was the SSD drive and motherboard. A transplant to ATX case (did not have another Dell SFF case or could I get one without purchasing a complete system) that the board would fit in, with it's odd front panel board was hard enough. But got an older ATX case ($10) with modular mounts for drive cages so was able to move the upper drive cages down, with some modification was able to get the motherboard to fit. Now the not so good, proprietary connector for power on the motherboard, and since the original power supply was destroyed and a replacement from Dell would not fit in this ATX case, went searching for a solution and I found this (24 Pin to 8-Pin Power Supply Adapter) on Amazon (seem allot of people have had this issue), well this allowed me to add a ATX power supply (650Watts) which made my client happy because now the client could upgrade the video card and add additional item so that the client could get more bang for their buck, now the client could try gaming, video capture and video editing, and since the only proprietary thing left was the motherboard, if the client wanted to upgrade the client could now, without having a proprietary case and power supply. A cheaper way to go than buying another proprietary Dell system. The (24 Pin to 8-Pin Power Supply Adapter) allows you to use a standard 24 PIN power connector to the DELL 8 PIN connector. It still allows you to use the power connector on the motherboard for devices (if you like). This cost very little, the transplant from the crushed case to the ATX case with power supply in all was $60 and used Dell OptiPlex with and I7 and 16GB ram is average $200. Client was able to add a 1650 4GB Video Card for $140 making the total $200. Same a buying a used Dell, but better video, better power supply and most important, upgrade-able

Fantastic. It saved me!I had bought a beefier power supply for my Dell Precision 3620 desktop to handle a better video card and some other add-ons. But lo and behold - Dell did not have the standard power connectors on the motherboard, sneaky devils. One connector was missing (there was a location for it on the motherboard, but it was not populated!)After reading through many web articles on Dell MB's and power, I found a description of an adapter, just like this one. Bought it, plugged it in - computer booted! Happy... Nice work, whoever came up with it.

Product showed up as an exact match and did exactly as intended. Have been running my Dell precision with a 700w aftermarket PSU using this with no issues so far. Was one of the only products I was able to find to solve my problem with an 8-pin proprietary connector. Both plugs matched up perfectly fine and I dont even notice it's there which means it's doing its job. Overall super happy with this product as I cannot run my PC in it's current configuration without it. Price wasnt the best with shipping but given its lack of other options it makes sense, and given the price of a PC build it's nothing to worry about.

I used this in my Optiplex 9020 PC. I've had no issues with it at all for about a year now. It works as intended.

I am using the on a Dell optiplex 7060 - a bit older model. when I connect all the plugs from the psu I got a steady blinking light. I removed the 4 part of the 20 + 4 going to the board it will have a steady red light and the PSU fans starts. while powered with the 20 pin part I connected the 4 pin and the PC started to boot without pushing the power switch. this happens everytime I connect power to the board

This also works in a Dell Inspiron 3650.I had an HP 550w PSU a HP GTX1060 and an older i5 Dell Inspiron 3650 knocking around and wanted to make a decent(ish) gaming rig for my kid, after a little angle grinder modification to the inside of the Dell, I had the HP standard size ATX power supply installed in the case which gave me the power connectors to the GTX1060, plugged in the eyeboot cable to the HP 24 pin and plugged in the motherboard cables, hit the power button and everything worked.This PC now plays most modern titles in the mid range quality over 80fps at 1080p.Doom 2016 100fpsDoom Eternal 85+ fps.Overwatch 85fpsAlex LegendsPUBGCable saved me from having to buy a PC and was able to use the parts I had laying around.
