Works well
Was really worried because of reviews on cheaper monitors. However I've found this one uses less red stuff that comes from veins and the tabs are a lot more affordable. I've only lost 1 to error where as the alpha one it seems like every 1 in 10 I've lost to error. Very easy to use and does come with the test which does explain how to read it.

Great product.
This is a great product thus far for my dog. I'm a T1D and cannot use my machine and found this one. It does require a little more blood than you would think. I bought the one with the 50 strips but you're better off getting one with more strips. I've used 10 strips within a 24 hour period, monitoring my dogs sugar bc it was my first time using this but also you need more blood. So if you only suck up a little on the strip and try to squeeze for my blood then its already messed up. So order more strips. Im about to now.

Had to practice
I used it now but at first couldn’t get an adequate blood sample, then I saw a vet use just the lancet part. She just did a good poke more inside the ear. The blood amount was better and it is within range of the vets! The price was good too!

Waste of money
This monitor is horrible. Can't get a correct reading. Requires alot more blood then others. Couldn't get it to stay on dog mode. Would just say hi but no actual numbers. I used 5 stripes for 1 reading. Cheap and cheap.

You get what you pay for
While this meter is very reasonably priced as well as the test strips, I found it to be rather difficult. My battery would not stay in, had to close the compartment fast so are my readings accurate?? Takes so much more blood than the AlphaTrak3. It’s almost impossible to get that much blood from my cat. Was going to return my Alpha but I am keeping it. Test strips are expensive but my VET uses Alpha so I know it must be good. I will just have to deal with the price of the test strips. I feel better knowing my reading will now be as they are at my VET clinic. Cheaper is not always better. Especially when it comes to health matters.

Requires Large Blood Droplet
I tried this unit for my 17 lb dog and returned for a refund. Amount of Blood required is large. Might work well for a bigger dog but definitely not a good choice for a small dog or cat.
