Little Unicorn (Ten Minutes to Bed)

Great read for the kids

I bought the little unicorn and the little dragon books and we Loved that their stories interconnected. It was so cool to read them in tandem. We have purchased the rest of the ten minutes to bedtime in hardcover format and are looking forward to purchasing more from this author. I love that the characters are just a tiny bit mischievous but choose to go to bed at the end. And that the story can be read in under 5 minutes. My kids love the artwork and details. These are definitely our favorite bedtime stories.

I am the mother of two young children - my daughter is currently 6 and my son is 9. I have read to them every single night of their lives, and so I consider myself something of an expert on bedtime stories. Some books are just too interesting to be good for bedtime - they excite, rather than calm. Others claim to be bedtime stories, but are really just boring. This book, I can say without a shadow of a doubt, is magical and utterly perfect for bedtime.The illustrations in "Ten Minutes to Bed Little Unicorn" are so vibrant, playful, and beautiful. For the first few readings, this actually kept my little ones from quieting down and settling in to sleep. They were enthralled by the pictures, delighted by the imagery and colors, and so they wanted to be sitting up to see them. After a few readings, though, they committed the pictures to memory and were able to lay back with their eyes closed and see the pages in their heads. And that, my friends, makes bedtime a snap!At this point, we have read "Ten Minutes to Bed Little Unicorn" so many times that we all have it committed to memory. When we traveled out of town a week ago and forgot to take the book with us, we were still able to "read" it as I recited it from memory and the kids saw the pictures in their minds.Another bonus is that this book is great for early readers. The print is playful and easy to read, and the words are mostly most-used words that early readers know or are learning.This is my favorite bedtime book we have. I highly, highly recommend to all who read to kids at bedtime, and to all early readers.

Daughter loves unicorns and this was just the book to get her fast asleep in no time.

The Ten Minutes to Bedtime collection is fun; I love the little map that shows the imaginary world on the front and back. My toddler is 17mo and loves Little Dinosaur so I got this book and one other to add to the reading rotation.My biggest gripe… board book versions are not available in all areas and it was not available for my area. They’re just so much more user friendly for younger toddlers.Next thing is really only minor… the writing is not as good as it was in Little Dinosaur - the story about Rumble just feels good as you read it. There are some spots that this one could be improved. Same with the other one we got.My baby is not as severe a critic, and loves this book. Which is important to note because if she doesn’t like it within 2 seconds of opening the front page she will slam it shut on you and say “done! done…done.” Nod and then take it back to the bookshelf. So that reviewer gives a 5/5, it’s mom/dad who say 4/5.*This review is posted on both books

The media could not be loaded. Bought for 2 year old granddaughter.The colors and the story keep her attention.I love its thick pages. Should last a long time.

We had ten minutes to bed little dinosaur for our son so we bought this for our daughter. They adore these books, and the story is so sweet .
