I needed this for a special cake I was making which was gluten-free. The cake was very moist & tasted quite delicious except for the lightly gritty after-taste that ground rice leaves in the mouth. I can't remember how much I paid for this packet but the recipe called for about 3/4qtrs of a kilo so I used most of it up in one go. I know that rice is not expensive, in fact, it's the staple diet of millions of people, some of whom live in abject poverty. So for the life of me, I cannot understand under why ground rice is so expensive in comparison. I think I'll stick to semolina in the future, it's virtually the same.
