Very concise
This collection includes a wide range of jazz styles to fiddle around with. It indicates which tunes are suited more for "beginners" and which tunes in a style are more advanced. All accompanying information is presented effectively. On top of listing scales, bass lines, chord voicings, and several variations of some of these; each tune includes a specific recording on which the book's lead sheet is based on. As many Jazz musicians deviate from the standard charts (go figure), this simple identification can enable you to hear the chord progressions without digging for the closest match out of the many renditions of that song.

A Must Have
My son is a musician, and as such they must have these REAL books. It's a great way to learn to sight read, as well as being able to whip them out to play music instantly.

Jazz Fake Book
A nice selection of jazz standards. I like the inclusion of bass lines, piano comp charts, scales and chord symbols. This makes it a valuable teaching tool.

Five Stars
This is probably the best book possible for a school jazz combo that knows what they're doing.
