Excellent Cover
I was anxious to find a quality cover for our 2025 Santa Fe, protecting it from the weather while we were on travel for a month. I love this Motor Trend Safeguard vehicle cover. As you can see from the pictures it was an excellent fit and offered total protection from the dropping fall leaves, rain, and wind. It's well made with reinforced seams and reflective stripes, good for street parking, though that wasn't an issue for me. The multi-layer cover has an outer layer that is a reflective silver color that is tough and durable, yet the inner layer is a soft fabric that protected the finish on our vehicle. It has three under vehicle straps with click buckles which allows for the cover to be secured in the front, middle, and rear of the vehicle, and provide resistance from lifting in the wind. It's a one-piece unit that DOES NOT have zippered access which I found to be an advantage, as it limits someones ability to easily get into the vehicle while it is covered. It's important to note that when installing, it's best to start with a clean car so the inner fabric layer doesn't get dirty which could lead to fine scratches of the vehicle's paint. None of that happen and I'm extremely pleased with how it fit our vehicle and and kept it protected for over 30 days. I highly recomment this Motor Trend Safeguard SUV cover.

Excellent Car Cover!!
I just wanted to share my experience with the Motor Trend Safekeeper car cover. I have just bought my third one. Unfortunately they only last two years but in the two years before they become porous, they are the best car cover that I have found. Prior to replacing my last one I decided; let me see what else is out there. I tried carcover.com, I tried seal coat (they were the worst). I tried two or three different brands off of Amazon. None of them fit as well as this one. Some of them, despite saying that they were waterproof couldn’t even keep the moisture from dew off the car. Straps, forget about it! Placement, quality, all garbage. This car cover as seen in the picture is my go to car cover. Our 55 Buick unfortunately lives in the driveway and needs protection. The only thing that I wish it was a little taller and covered more of the tire, but look how well this non-custom car cover fits! We live in New York, so we get rain, sleet, snow, sun, wind it protects it from all of it. Incidentally, the first one I bought was actually defective and I needed it replaced. Motor Trend’s customer service was excellent!

I am impressed, but they don’t last.
The Motortrend Safekeeper, compared to the custom covers I have purchased in the past, is a better cover than any of them. This is my initial impression. In the past I have paid a lot more for a custom cover because I believed that you did "get what you paid for." However, after a year, or less, I was sadly mistaken. And those "lifetime warranties" suddenly disappeared in loopholes. Those “custom covers” seem to disintegrate the same as ANY other cover. If this Motortrend cover lasts more than 12 months I will be happy. That's as long as any more expensive custom car covers lasted. The MT cover is thick and soft. It has sewn in straps on the front, middle, and rear to secure the cover during those windy days. The 176-inch length is perfect for my 2012 Miata MX5. It covers all the way down to my tires. The only thing I miss are the custom mirror pockets and antenna glove. But I'm willing to do without those features . This cover looks good on my Miata. I recommend this product. UPDATE: After four months of heavy California sun with temperatures over 100-degrees, this cover has held up against tears. However, there is some disintegration with the surface layer. Dirt and dust have "baked" into the top plastic layer. I have been washing the dirt off of the car covers while they are still on the car and that worked to keep the covers clean and looking new for a while. However, no amount of washing has been able to remove the baked in dirt stains. I am sad to say that today, September 4, 2022, this car cover has failed after only FIVE month of sun exposure. I purchased this cover on April 6, 2022. Through this short time, the MT cover has become brittle and many tears are appearing. UPDATE: September 2022: I contacted MotorTrend Store Support to find out if there was a warranty replacement. I was referred to BDK automobile products from Amazon at [email protected]. I'm happy to say a replacement cover was received after providing photos and purchase information of the cover. UPDATE: July 2023, The same sun damage and deterioration is taking place on the replacement cover. The cover is becoming brittle and the surface is absorbing dust into the plastic, just as before. I believe the extra 4 months of longevity, this time, is attributable to the fact that for a period of time I covered the MotorTrend cover with another lighter car cover. A car cover to protect my car cover, crazy. Will I replace the MT cover with a new one from out my own pocket? Considering the alternatives, yes. Every car cover purchased in the past, as I’ve stated earlier, has not performed any better at even a higher cost; unfortunately. And I want to protect my car as much as I can. Other than a garage or car port, does anyone have any recommendations?

Seems to be a durable product.
Good item so far but I haven’t had it on my car for that long yet but the fit is good and the material seems to be durable and I expect to get a decent serviceable lifetime from this product.

Not Worth It.
I purchased this cover after taking delivery of my 2025 Corvette in early May 2025. At the time, I had to act fast to pick up the vehicle because of the great deal I got and because I wanted to purchase the vehicle ahead of any price increases due to tariffs or anything else. Initially the cover worked but was extremely cumbersome to put on the vehicle. After the my first time doing so, I understood-fairly quickly- that all covers are not equal. Therefore I ordered a custom and premium outdoor/indoor cover to supplement the one being reviewed here, which cost me $430 and works extremely well. Fast forward five months, my driving habits include driving my Vette at least once each week, which means uncovering the vehicle. I should also note that I have been using the premium cover (the premium one I purchased directly from Cover King) as the first cover layer and the Motor Trend cover as the second. Last week I took my Vette for a ride and noticed that that water somehow seeped through. Thankfully the car was not wet because of the first cover. Yesterday morning, I took the car cover off to wash the car before taking my kid out on a daughter daddy date. I immediately noticed that the Motor trend car cover was cracked and weathered in several places and that the recent rain had seeped through again. Thankfully we are presently heading into a cooler season so no real harm to my vehicle. Based on my experience, I would not recommend the cover if you plan to cover your vehicle fore no more than three months. The cover is, as the kids say, trash. It will fail, leadi g you to purchase another for more $$$.

Easy to put on
I bought this awhile ago and just started using it for about a week and so far it has done a great job in protecting my vehicle and keeping the exterior clean. I have a 2025 Honda CRV-EXL and it fit perfectly! At first it was a bit hard to figure out how to put it on, I tried for about 30 minutes and could not get it on, thought I probably got the wrong size. So I came back here to Amazon to see if I could find any further instructions besides the one it came with and I read a review that said they also had a hard time putting it on, but they figured out that it goes on easy as long as the wording “MOTORTREND” goes on the front of your car and once you figure that out it slides right on. So I tried putting it on my car again with the wording on the front and it really did slide right on!! Literally took less than 2 minutes to put on, so easy. It comes with straps to tighten for wind protection, but honestly unless you live in a super windy place, it’s not necessary to use them. The cover has a snug fit so it’s not coming off even with a bit of wind. Overall this cover works great at protecting the exterior of your car. It looks and feels like very durable material. It also looks nice on my car. Definitely worth the price, I personally do recommend this cover.

Great car cover
Great quality! Purchased a cheaper one which barely lasted a year!

Good Coverage from Weather
The protection was great, although we ended up finding room in the garage for the car, as well as our truck. We live in the country and mice still get in under the cover and chew on wiring.
