Sweet and sexy. I loved this bokk
This was such a great story. Definitely 5+ stars for me. It just made my heart go crazy whether from joy, sadness, sexiness, etc.Justin is a wonderful person. When you first meet him as a young boy you can't help but fall in love with him with how he is with Amelia. As you see the flashbacks you see how kind and loving and protective he is of her as teens and your heart melts even more. As a man he is one of the most charming and sexy characters who is also funny.Amelia is a wonderful, loving, caring, charming and beautiful woman. As a child/teen she was awkward and was happy that she had someone like Justin to be there for her even though she began to have feelings for him.Justin & Amelia met when they were young - she was 10 and he 11. They were neighbors and from day 1 Justin became Amelia's protector. They were best friends and went everywhere and did everything together. Eventually they developed feelings for each other as they became teenagers but neither of them told each other how they felt because they were scared to loose their friendship and they were young teens. Both coming from broken families - Amelia's parents were divorced and her mom slept around and Justin's parents were absent and had a open marriage - they only had Amelia's grandmother to take care of them and she became their only family member. One day Amelia found out that her mom was having an affair with Justin's dad and Justin knew about it but kept it a secret because he didn't want to hurt Amelia. She left that day and went to move in with her dad and never spoke or saw Justin again. 10 years later Amelia's grandmother dies and in her will leaves her summer home to both Amelia and Justin who haven't seen each other. Amelia goes to the house and sets herself up for a relaxing summer hoping Justin doesn't come. Her dreams were answered for a few weeks at least until the day comes when she sees that Justin has come...with his girlfriend. The boy she used to love is now a very beautiful man and her old feelings get kicked up a notch along with sexual desire. Things are very awkward and there's a lot of anger coming out of Justin. He answers her with attitude, acts like he hates her and everyday Amelia's heart breaks because she feels terrible for what she had done all those years ago. She wants to apologize but Justin doesn't want to talk to her or about that day ever again. They try to be civil and keep out of each other's way. It's especially hard for Amelia because Justin and his girlfriend Jade, who is a lovely girl, are always having sex and keeping her awake but because she's an actress on Broadway she frequently has to go back to NY for days/weeks at a time which leaves her and Justin alone. One night while Jade is back in NY Justin and Amelia finally sit down and talk about what happened back then and they work out their issues and Justin tells Amelia that he was in love with her and she tells him the same. Now left with this sexual tension and knowing what they felt towards each other it's more difficult to keep away.Eventually the time came when Justin and Jade had to go back to NY for them jobs but that day came with some news when Amelia finds out she's pregnant with her ex boyfriends baby. They had broken up months ago when she found him cheating on her. Knowing how Justin feels about babies she was scared to tell him but when she did it rocked his world. Not only have they grown closer but became friends again and Justin didn't want to leave Amelia alone and pregnant. Amelia promises to keep him updated on how's she doing and to let him know if she needs anything.Fast forward 8 months, Amelia gets kicked out of her apartment back home because her building was sold and she has a beautiful baby girl named Bea. She goes back to the summer house and prepares to move in since she has nowhere else to go and the house is half hers. She hasn't slept, showered, eaten in what seems like forever and is in need of help desperately. The next night she wakes up to the noise of someone trying to open the door when she runs downstairs to see that it's Justin. When he sees her he notices how rundown and tired she looks and gets angry because she's been telling him everything is fine when it wasn't. He instantly jumps into the role of Amelia's protector again and takes care of both her and Bea who he grows close to. Justin has come to the house alone without Jade because things have been strained and he needed a break to think about his life. He didn't realize Amelia would be there but it's exactly what he needed. Caring for Bea and Amelia has been wonderful and has made him grow as a man although the sexual tension between him and Amelia has been hard on him. He eventually breaks up with Jade after going back to NY for a few days for work.One day before Amelia is set to go on a date he kisses her with such passion to keep her thinking of him instead of the other man which he tries to scare off and intimidate. And it works, all Amelia can think about is having Justin's lips on hers FINALLY. After her date and the weeks that follow Justin and Amelia get closer but after failing to have sex one night when Bea interrupts they haven't been close to it again. Amelia is afraid to begin things because she knows how scared Justin is about commitment and having a family.Justin gets an opportunity to go on tour with a famous musician and be the opening act. It's a chance of a lifetime and Amelia makes sure he takes it even though she's upset she'd be without him for a few months. Saying goodbye was one of the hardest things because now that they can finally be together Justin is leaving to live the life as a musician - what he always wanted. They speak everyday and miss each other so much. Justin hates having to miss Bea growing up and her first bday and he misses not getting to be with Amelia. When the tour comes close to town, Amelia asks her neighbor to watch Bea so that she can go see him perform. She only makes it in time to see him after the show in which they go to a hotel where they finally have sex for the first time and profess how much they miss each other. Saying goodbye is a little easier this time because now they know where they stand with each other. Justin says Amelia belongs to him and that's that. A few weeks later it's Christmas Eve and Bea and Amelia are still missing Justin so much. They have an argument over the phone because Amelia's insecurities are made known about the rockstar lifestyle she is scared Justin is living. That night she wakes up for some reason to hear that her baby is wheezing and can't breathe because something was lodged in her throat. She's texts Justin on what happened and that she is going to the hospital. Because she went unconscious Bea has to stay overnight for observations to make sure no brain damage was done. Justin flies from LA to Providence to be with his girls and when he gets to the hospital he's broken to see that baby in a bed and looking so small and scared. A nurse asks if he's her father and he automatically answers YES and that brings tears to Amelia's eyes because her baby finally has a dad since her real dad wanted nothing to do with her.Justin and Amelia tell each other how much they love each other and that being away from his girls has opened his eyes to how much he wants to be her father and be with Amelia.After all the struggles and ups and downs Justin and Amelia and Bea get their HEA. Reading the words spoken and how they felt was so beautiful and made my heart melt every single time. The author did a wonderful job creating such great characters and a wonderful story.I loved the epilogue and to see how much they have grown as a couple and a family.I highly recommend this story!!

She knows precisely how to get inside the reader's mind with her flawless writing, remarkable characters and always with an exceptional, emotional romance that is sure to captivate you. This book was another hit in a bookcase of amazing reads.Told entirely from Amelia’s POV (except for the oh-so-sweet Epilogue), this story grips you from the moment it opens. Amelia is ten when she meets an eleven year old Justin, who immediately accepts her, eye patch and all. He doesn’t care about her flaws. In fact, he finds them fascinating and goes about showing her that nothing anyone can say or do would change that... except her.Fear and confusion send Amelia running away from Justin at age fifteen. Years later, when she’s unexpectedly confronted with the only boy she ever loved, who is now a smokin’ hot man with a serious attitude and a serious hate-on for her, her old insecurities come flooding back.But what I loved about this book was that even with all those insecurities Amelia was feeling, she still found the the strength to stay and fight for what she wanted. Sure, it was easy to run and to avoid and she did do a little of that, but ultimately, she held on and was ready to take what she could get because she loved Justin and wanted him in her life, even if just as a friend.These two were so sweet together as young friends in the flashbacks we get. And as adults, Justin is angry and intense and HOT! Amelia is struggling but strong and their push-pull was so well done! It totally delivered the chest pangs and butterflies as their slow glide to romance plays out.I also loved the different approach this books takes to an overused plot twist. It had me smiling, tearing up and finally, falling in love as deeply and as richly as Justin and Amelia did with one another.There are so many descriptive labels for this books - Angsty, fun, tension-filled, sexy scenes that seem to never get to the finish line... but finally.. FINALLY does, heartbreak, swoon-worthy dialogue, friends-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers, second chance romance, childhood sweethearts, besties, hot rock star who finds something more challenging and important than fame, a teacher who finds her true calling, no cheating but some seriously hot looks and a lot of contemplation... I could go on and on. But it’s simple. This was an amazing romance that made me feel good all over.
