You'll clean things you never cleaned before
This is a whole new way to clean. You don’t need buckets, chemical and all kinds of cleaning tools. You don’t have to think about how you’re going to clean something. There is minimal setup because you leave the water in the unit from the last time. You just pull it out of storage and plug it in. You use the lowest pressure setting when you want continuous steam (plenty for the floor) and the higher pressure settings when you are blasting away dirt in hard to get places. Inside corners and tight grooves are the hardest to get to so you use more pressure to get in there. Sometimes I have to wear a rubber glove because my hand is too close to the hot steam. All the attachments are thick plastic that insulates you from the heat. But they hold up well with the heat. When I steam the floor (terrazzo), I need only two small towels to mop the whole house. The bristles on the medium floor attachment grab the terry-cloth towel like it was velcro and I wrap the excess towel on the extension pole and hold it in place with a velcro-strap (16 inches) I got from Home Depot. The two-tank heating system is the only way to go because you just keep filling it and go. On a one-tank system, you have to wait for a cool down to fill it and wait again to heat it up. Sorry, when I’m working I don’t want to be forced to take a break, I want to keep the momentum going. So what you are doing is: melting the dirt and grease and transferring it to a towel that you throw in the laundry washer. You’re always using a rag or towel to wipe right after you steam something. It is surprising how well it cleans and don’t forget, you’re sterilizing it with heat. Killing ALL the germs with simple water. You do get some ‘hot-water’ condensation out of the hose at first, but plan for and put it on your rag instead of where you are steaming. I am really glad they put a sliding latch on the handle as a ‘lock out’ so you don’t accidentally push the trigger and shoot steam in your face. You only have to do it once to learn your lesson. The trigger is actually a large electronic button under the handle that is activated when you gently touch it while you grab the handle. It has a pretty light touch so it is easy to turn on the steam. Again, use the ‘lock out’, avoid the ACCIDENT! It’s almost fun when you find new things to clean with it, and it really shines when it is a tight crevice you’re trying to get into. You really are BLASTING the dirt away with super-hot steam (water boils at 212f/100c, this is 320f/160c). UPDATE: Ouch !!!! Use a rubber glove over the hand you’re not triggering with. I had a leak on the side of the brush I had covered with a towel that I didn't see and got burned. I had to put a bag of frozen peas on it to take the sting away. I still love my machine though. I was cleaning my leather couch and the steam makes it look like new again. UPDATE: My kitchen sink has a four foot horizontal drain-line in the wall that clogs every two-to-three years. In past years I have bought so many pieces of heavy equipment to take care of this and all the lines in my house. This year I thought, “hum, I wonder if that drain-line fitting in the Dupray works?” Short answer, “YES”. I felt like crying in happiness because it was sooo easy (remembering the pain in previous years). Remember,”320 degrees at 120 pounds of pressure.” It pushed all that food and grease and sterilized the pipe, I did it twice. NICE ! UPDATE: I have sinus problems because of breathing mold-spores from the air conditioning. I am an engineer and have been fighting this problem for years. I was cleaning my a/c condenser coils and was about to put the grill back on to finish. I thought, “I can’t imagine there would be any mold on the cover face of the unit. The condenser is what gets wet for the mold to grow, not the cover.” Well I was surprised to find small black spots (mold) on the inside of the fins of the cover. I thought, “you want war, you got it!” With the long narrow attachment I started methodically blasting away the spots. Steaming is like using bleach, it drills down to the original color. When the steam pressure was getting lower, I just pushed the button for maximum steam to up the pressure. Eventually, I take a break to let the pressure recover, about three minutes. As I’m blasting the spots, I started thinking, “this is getting LOUD” !! It’s like standing next to a jet engine without ear protection.” I went into the garage and put on my lawn-mowing ear muffs. Lastly, if you’re cleaning the interior of your car, go to a restaurant supply store and get some heavy-duty rubber gloves, the ones that go up to your elbows. You can shoot your hand a long time and not feel the heat. When you wipe your steering wheel, shoot the rag with the steam, then wipe. If you shoot the wrong plastic, you could melt it. You can also use the gun WITHOUT an attachment for a less concentrated, more gentle, stream of steam. UPDATE: I just finished cleaning the freezer on my extra-large stainless steel refrigerator. I have the French doors on the top and the freezer on the bottom. I threw away old meat and pulled out the shop-vac to pick up all the loose vegetables. I then wiped down everything with a wet rag and the only thing left was some sticky fruit and some waxy stuff in the tracks where the shelf wheels ride. I thought, “hum, wonder what the Dupray would do?” No problem, wax is up and the sticky stuff no more. Another nice thing is being able to blast in the tiny corners, makes for a more professional job. Wow, that went well, and easy too! Ok, what about the finger prints on the stainless-steel doors? I used NO ATTACHMENT, I hold the gun 4 inches from the door and shoot semi-condensed steam on to the finger-prints. I wipe with a clean rag and finger-prints no more. There is no doubt the nicest thing about this Dupray is NO RINSING with clean water. NO CHEMICALS NEEDED ! I went back to the refrigerator to see if there was anything else I wanted to tell you. I looked at the refrigerator and thought, ‘gorgeous’. UPDATE: So now I have more and more things I need to clean with the steamer on a regular basis. I mop the floor every two weeks and clean the air conditioner. This steamer moves along pretty fast so the list is growing, you’re getting big nasty jobs done really well and FAST! This time, before putting the steamer away, I thought “well the kitchen cabinets need a cleaning”. I’m a good cook and somehow a drop of spaghetti sauce flies out of the pot on to the white cabinet door. There are also hand prints and coffee drips down some door. I use a foam pad for my knees when I get down on the floor to be eye level with the bottom doors. I used the triangle attachment with a towel over it to rub the doors clean. I had 13 doors and 10 drawers done in about 15 minutes. I also did my in-wall oven and I discovered that if you use the triangle attachment like you use the single long nose attachment, you get a much wider steam spray that does larger areas pretty fast. It’s not blasting out dirt from corners as much as moving along faster. Also, holding the towel on the triangle attachment got pretty hot after a while, so I pulled out the heavy rubber gloves for more insulation on my hands. Now I am using ionized water instead of sink tap water. The steamer uses so little water that I can afford the best water for my machine. The ‘ionized’ water doesn’t have any minerals in it so I don’t have to clean it every 20 hours of use. I get the ionized water from my grocery store for about 86 cents a gallon. I might use a gallon per month for the steamer. It’s a no brainer. When I clean the A/C, I use the single nozzle attachment with the horse-hair brush. It’s gentle on the fine aluminum fins, I don’t brush them, I just use it to protect against bumping into the fins. They bend VERY EASILY, and you DON’T want that. When I turn off the steamer, I push the power button on the front panel and wait for the dashed lines to stop and the word OFF displays, THEN, I look at the back where the power cord is and press the main power switch to completely shut down the machine. Doing it this way avoids hurting the computer inside and messing up the programming. UPDATE: Here is a special circumstance, so listen up. When you are steaming and the unit runs out of water, the alarm will start beeping and the Low Water light will blink. You press the power button on the front panel to stop the annoying beeping. You fill the water tank with water and press the power button to start the pumping. This time, the sound of the pump sounds different. It doesn’t sound like it is pumping water. The reason is twofold. For one, the pump ran out of water so it will need to prime itself. Second, the pump is pushing against steam pressure. To get the water into the pump, you will have to let all the pressure out. Then the pump will have a chance to draw water and push it into the steam chamber. It seems the pump can’t prime AGAINST steam pressure. Just let the steam out and the pump will sound different, the water starts flowing. Or…, don’t let it run dry, my bad. No biggie !

After having bought one…this is a “TAKE MY MONEY” because it’s with it machine.
I love this thing. Only had it for a couple months. Just moved into new place and this thing knocked the bathroom cleaning out of the park. Heavy duty, intuitive use. LOTS of steam. Easy to move around with the rollers and excellent attachments for just about any cleaning project you could think of tackling. Thinking about making this a future birthday gift for someone who would appreciate a gift like this. If you’re thinking about it, just get the thing. Just my cleaning my new toilets when I moved in. Didn’t have to touch a thing. It released anything and everything and made it easy. Nuff said

Well Built Unit Works Great
Great unit. No doubt expensive. However, you get what you pay for. Some of the reviews reflect issues that are found in cheaper brands. The one shipped to me is flawless. Works exactly the way it was designed. Reaches 317° - 320° very quickly (8 - 10 min max). The vapor is not saturated or watery as some have suggested. If the unit sits without use for a period of time, the recommendation is to release the first triggered steam into a bucket or sink to rid the hose of condensation. After releasing, the vapor is no longer saturated and you go on to cleaning with steam vapor. I have a cheaper unit which works well at 1/10th the cost. But it gets messy after a relative short time (10 - 15 min) with saturated vapors. This doesn't happen with Dupray as long as you are using it. I have cleaned my greasey, stained, 50 year old oven to almost spotless (also using oven cleaner). I would show pics, but it needs cleaning again. This unit works well. Expensive, but worth the money if you enjoy working with precision instruments. I highly recommend this unit.

Most Excellent Purchase!
This is a most excellent machine that is far exceeding my expectations in terms of cleaning success and ease of use. Our house is all tile flooring. I was having trouble keeping it clean. We found this Dupray machine and it is AWESOME. It is easy to use and very effective in its cleaning. The attachments are awesome. The one to clean the tile surface works really well. And the attachment to clean the grout lines is amazing! I am able to happily clean my floors every week. They look clean and feel clean. The machine itself is sturdy -- the materials it is made from are clear quality and the machine rolls around beautifully. I can't believe anyone gave this machine a less than stellar 5 star rerivew. It is FANTASTIC. It is great value for the money - it costs a bit more but it works so well it is worth it!

First, the machine: I love the Tosca for its much superior steam temperature, (316° as opposed to other brands at around 212 to 220°.) Also, Tosca has much higher pressure, (75 PSI as opposed to 55 or 65 PSI). So you have constant steam at high temperature without having to stop for pressure loss every few minutes. And, the high pressure and high heat last for about 60 minutes (depending on your use and how much water is in the tank). The Tosca also is Commercial Grade, which means that this machine can last a much longer period of time, many years with normal use. I use distilled water only. The manual may say you can use tap water, or a mixture of the two, but I believe that using distilled water is the best for keeping the unit as clean from mineral buildup as possible, and with normal cleaning every 50 days or so, this will protect the machine's performance and endurance as best as possible. As for its performance, I find it steams off dirt, grime, and areas of baked-on crusty food that may have been sitting on a table top, counter or floor for weeks. It's not instantaneous, no steam cleaner is able to do that, as a vacuum cleaner would do. It does take a bit of time (a minute or two) to allow the steam to melt the stain or crusty spot first, and then allow the tool you are using - such as one of the brush heads, or one of the included fibre cloths - to gently do its magic by slowly and lightly rubbing the spot a bit at a time, as you watch the old, crusty yuck, gradually liquefy and simply turn into a dirty water that you simply wipe off with a paper towel. And, voilà! The surface is sparkling clean and completely sanitized without the use of any chemicals or even soap. All you used was clean water! The Tosca also comes with a handy fill-bottle, so you don't need a measuring cup and funnel to get the water into the machine's tank, as all the other other machines I've tried do. Now, as to the quality of the service - in one word, Excellent. They have a customer service 800 phone number on the included literature, which is answered, in my experience, within seconds of dialling the main number and pushing the correct buttons on your phone pad. The person I dealt with was named Steve. He was courteous, polite, knowledgeable, and all too willing to help. So, my experience with Steve would prompt me, with no hesitation, to give him 5 stars. He helped me tremendously. Needless to say, given my above description of the unit itself, I give that 5 stars as well. So, thank you Steve, and thank you Dupray. You have made my cleaning experience lighter, shorter, and even fun!

Loved that this item shipped quickly. It was well packaged. Despite that I did have a small piece broken but the company is sending a replacement. Comes with multiple attachments. I watched a couple videos with regards to using this item, so it was very simple to set up and use. I have had folding chairs For about 20 years and was ready to throw them away because the upholstery was looking terrible. The Steamer clean them amazingly! They look brand new again.

I did a fair amount of research and review reading before we made this purchase, This machine was significantly more money than we had originally anticipated spending, but it seemed to overcome all the failings that people had reported about other, less expensive units. We figured that there was no sense paying less for more headaches and we intend to keep this machine for a long time. We have had the Tosca for about a week now. We started with cleaning the grout on our tile floors. They were not very dirty by any means, as we clean them regularly with a brush and soap/vinegar solution. We started with the small nylon brush attachment, the bristles of which deformed after about 10 minutes, so we switched to the brass brush. It was perfect and the grout came up looking like new. Inspired, we moved on to the toilet seats and got out dirt that we didn’t know existed. There is an area on the seat where the lid attaches to the seat that you could never get at with any other tool. The lance was a perfect tool to ‘flush’ out the debris that had collected over time. Excellent result. We then moved on to the furniture. A few deep stains proved resistant to the tool, however, it was pretty amazing to look at the microfibre cloth attached to the triangular tool after using it on the cushions and the back, for a short time, and see the dirt that you would never have imagined accumulated over time. These were white couches that, aside from a few stains, did not look dirty to start with. The corners of the skirting of the couch which touch the floor, however, were very dirty and the steamer did not get the dirt out. That was probably asking too much of it. We followed that up with a Bissell Spotclean Proheat carpet and furniture cleaner, which did the trick. It uses an oxy solution which was obviously needed. We have hardwood floors, and will probably try out the Tosca to strip them of the cleaning solution used on them regularly. I am also anxious to try it out on my barbecue grills. It’s winter here and it is covered for the season, but come the spring, it will get a tryout. Something you should be aware of - when the machine starts to produce steam, it spews out water, before the steam starts to come out. I hold the wand over the sink when I have just filled the machine, so that the water does not come out onto the area you are going to use it on. One thing that I wonder about is the steam production. The steam seems to come out in pulses, rather than a constant stream. If you are using the lance to move along a line, it puts out an inconsistent amount of steam as you move it along, I am not sure if this is normal. I’m going to ask the manufacturer. All in all, if you are a clean freak, you will sleep well at night knowing your house is clean. We highly recommend this unit.

i quite like this machine and i have used a few different steamers. Pros: Love being able to fill it on the fly, especially for bigger jobs stylish quick heat up easy maintenance great attachments fairly easy to use once you figure it out Expectations: the steam is wetter then i expected but i think that is realistic on high steam with the 120v model you will use steam faster then it will build up need more cleaning pads Cons: none really, the cord is a little cumbersome but there are no glairing cons or regrets ive done big jobs (steam 1000sqft of tile grout) and small jobs (automotive detailing, spot cleaning) and found it works very well in all applicaitons, if your doing a ton of large jobs where you require 30mins of steam i would say this is a good start machine but you should get something with more power. this is great for home use and has done and cleaned things that i never thought i would be able to clean again. way way better than a mcculloch steam cleaner in overall performance and quality. even for smaller jobs ill grab this bad boy before i dig out my little handheld unit. the bag it comes with is quite nice and holds everything but im not sure it holds it all well, doesn't make sense to me to put the heavy main unit on top of all the smaller parts and attachments, maybe if the bag was more sturdy with a mid base but i could be putting it away differently than the manufacture suggests but not like i would know because their documentation and videos are fairly vague. overall very happy with this unit
