Kwikset 242 Tylo Entry Knob and Single Cylinder Deadbolt Project Pack in Satin Chrome

Installed one of the deadbolts in November to see how durable it was before I replaced another (didn’t relish the idea of being locked out of my house!) So far, so good with the first one! Easy to install, and no problems with the key being finicky.

The metal on these locks are as thin as they have to be. They feel light and flimsy but the main problem was that they didn't fit, so some mods would be required to my door. It was not worth it. You get what you pay for.

Decent lock set for the price. One of the key cylinders in a door knob was installed upside down. Manufacturing quality control could use work.

The lock and handle kits are very sturdy and if you properly waited in your hand while you open and close the doors. The key fits in smoothly without getting stuck or having to lift the handle, etc. quiet door closure, and very easy assembly. Surprisingly great quality for the price. Also the silver finish is a very nice brushed. Finish with matching hardware.

I am replacing the exact same model, just many years older, and the older one has much more metal than these new ones. I just needed different keys and it was cheaper to replace than rekey. What’s really annoying is that you cannot flip the door handle key hole without a special tool, which isn’t included. So on one of my doors the keyhole is upside down, which is incredibly annoying. Just include the tool or design the lock so it can be flipped without special tools!
