Very Good Phone especially for the money! Smaller than regular G7 which I like!
It works great for me! It's a little on the heavy side and does feel like a substantial phone especially compared to my old Moto e5 which was quite light and what I preferred. But I needed an upgrade in performance and this phone delivers better all around. This phone feels decent in my hand even with an added protective case. I originally bought a regular G7 which I found to be too large and heavy for my taste although it does have stereo speakers which G7 play doesn't. So I sent it back and bought the G7 play and glad I did! Note: I also bought it after doing extensive research showing Moto G7's are some of the best phones for the money.

Great phone for the price
I didn't even realize until I received this phone that fingerprint recognition was a thing, but it's a great deal handier than having to enter a PIN after several minutes or even hours of inactivity. Swiping up instead of hitting an "x" to close out of apps took a minute to get used to, but in the end this phone is just as user-friendly (and free of bloatware) as my two previous Moto E phones. I also appreciated that this vendor included a micro SD card that I was not expecting as part of the deal. I have been using this phone for a week as of this review and highly recommend it to anyone who is already a fan of Motorola smartphones (and/or has had a suboptimal experience with Samsung and LG phones) and doesn't need more than 32 gigs of storage.

Decent phone for the money
I got this phone to replace my son's LG K21. He wanted something a little smaller. So far, there have been no issues and he loves it.

Good Budget Phone
So one far so good. Seems like a good budget phone. If it holds up it will be a real bargain. Right now my only concern is the battery life.

Not compatible, and Android 10. Deal breakers.
This was a fast phone, with a loud speaker. One of the reasons I bought it, was for Android 9. It immediately updated to Android 10 so fast, that I didn't notice, without asking permission. My ATT mvno isn't able to have hotspot on 10, so it immediately ruined my experience. I was also wanting to use this with Visible wireless, since it shows on a checklist image in the description, that it's Verizon and Verizon network compatible. No on both accounts, according to their websites' IMEI checkers and a Visible rep I chatted with. Returned it promptly. No more Motos for me.

Phone has been swapped out for inferior model
Buyer beware! Vendor is selling the cheaper XT1952-6 model inside XT1952-4 product boxes. Like others have said, I received the 2GB version of this phone (XT1952-6) in a previously opened and now taped box. The phone was branded for Metro by T-Mobile, a US carrier. Returned immediately for refund.I was going to give the vendor the benefit of the doubt and re-order another, but I see this isn't an isolated case. Find another vendor.

WARNING! NOT 3GB of RAM! NO SD card!
The box says XT1952-4, 3GB RAM, but the actual phone inside says XT1952-6, and only has 2GB of RAM...After installing literal gigabytes of updates, the phone did finally update to Android 10.Never seen a sticker on the back of a Moto phone before, either. The box was opened and taped shut again. This is not new, this is "new". It's got Metro crap installed, too.And no 64GB SD card to be found.Nothing about this listing is correct!

Clearly reburbished garbage.
Do not buy this if you're hoping for a brand new phone. The box was damaged, the phone itself has scuff and scratch marks on it, the SIM tool was not included, and to top it all off they didn't even package the correct USB cable to charge the phone. Those complaints were only the physical problems aswell, as for the phone itself once you have it turned on you'll notice it has Metro already pre-installed (So expect your new feed to be blown up with useless information), this phone model has a million updates to it (even as I write this I'm finishing up the 3rd update and installing), and the lost most deep concerning thing is I've gotten a message about the phone may be needing a factory reset or it may not work properly. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra 20 or 30 so dollars for a bigger brand name. On one upside I was fortunate enough to have a 64GB SD card packed with mine.

Moto G7 Play unlocked - great budget phone!
I always want a phone that can... make calls, send and receive text messages, handle the occasional app and Youtube videos or light gaming. At the same time, I want to be able to carry my phone in my pockets, something that is getting more and more of a challenge with screens getting bigger and bigger these days. The Moto G7 Play gets to answer all my needs - and if I break/loose it, it's NOT the end of the world (I mean, it does not cost the same price as a fancy gaming laptop...).Note that this specific batch are unlocked Metro Mobile or something - so you get few apps built-in (that you can disable), and there's a special splash screen when you boot the phone. Other than that, nothing in the daily usage that is different from any other unlocked phone. 100% compatible with 4G/LTE network in Quebec.

Great phone nearly stock android
I was looking for a basic smaller phone that would be easier to pocket and this G7 Play is really the only decent option that will update to Android 10. Comparing against my old LGG7 and S20FE, this phone lacks some advanced features and camera quality but its all pretty close enough to work well for me and I like the stock Android experience. My S20FE has a lot of bugs, compromises and issues and so having the latest phone isn't that great of an experience. Hoping the Moto G7 Play will do all the core phone things like, fingerprint scanner, calls, sms and email really well. The only thing it's missing that I use is LDAC audio codec support. Not thrilled about that since Android 9 and 10 does support it, just not Motorola.I read other reviews that said they received open box, missing memory card bundle etc... Mine was brand new sealed, unlocked Tmoble version of the Moto G7 Play. Put my sim in and it was up and running no problem. Also it did come with an Adata 64GB micro SD brand new. There are a few sellers of this phone so always buy from a reputable and popular seller to be sure you get a new sealed phone if you are worried. This is one of the best phones available for under $160 and one of the smallest Android 10 phones.
